Bridal party expenses

Karen, on July 23, 2020 at 7:00 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 18
Ok ladies I need opinions and suggestions. I have already sent out my proposal boxes for my 2 bridesmaids and my matron and maid of honor. They said YES!! I am planning on paying for their hair and makeup, flower crowns (it’s a backyard wedding) and buying their robes for the day of the wedding (the ones they will use while we get ready)

Do you ladies think I am doing too much? Is there something else I should get them? HELP!!!!

I don't think you are doing too much at all. Are you also buying their bridal gifts? Or no, since you are paying for the other things?

No you are fine, its not like you have a huge bridal party! I'm not paying for hair, but I am also paying for my bridesmaids robes, gifts, and makeup (and I have 6).

I think what you're doing is more than generous.

Well, “doing too much” is subjective. If this is what you’d like to gift your bridal party, then go for it!

No, this is definitely not their bridal gift, they’ll have the appropriate one but I feel like if I can do this for them why not

I don't understand why you are worried you are doing too much. These are your dearest friends and you are buying them accessories/hair & makeup services for your wedding. The only suggestion I have is to make sure you check with each of them privately about their budgets before you choose a dress. The money you're planning to spend doesn't mean they can automatically all afford an expensive dress (plus alterations), shoes, etc.

I don't think what you're planning on is too much--it's pretty standard. I did basically the exact same thing, with the addition of a piece of jewelry for each girl as a gift (I also paid for their hair/makeup and getting ready attire, but I didn't count these as gifts because they were for the wedding and we all know the getting ready attire is for that photo opp). I think what you're doing is spot-on, but I would add another small gift in there if you have the means to do so

I’ve done that already and they are ok with whatever I choose. I’m not worried about doing too much. I love these girls and would only get the best for them. I’ve been told Im doing too much that’s why I’m asking for opinions. That does not mean I think the same way I do because honestly if I could I wouldn’t let them buy a single thing

That’s exactly what I’m thinking. Getting them each a piece of jewelry that goes with the wedding theme and somehow match me at the same time.

I don't think their is a "too much" for paying for bridesmaids & groomsmen since they typically take several days off and pay for pre-wedding events & wedding stuff. The robe for the day of & flower crown & hair/makeup is for the wedding more than it is a gift to them, so asking them to pay for it would be odd (in my opinion). I'd make sure to include a nice thank you note and a gift to each girl too.

Flower crown and makeup and hair I didn’t consider it as a gift, i want them to look a certain way that is why I’m paying for it. And as for the gift yes, I will give each girl a piece of jewelry and a bouquet of flowers with a thank you note. The only reason I ask for opinions is because I’m being told by some people that “I’m doing too much”
