Bridal Gown Price Comparison

What is the best way to compare prices for a bridal gown? Most of the bridal shops that I contact won't give prices over the phone - you must come in for an appointment which would be a waste of time since I already know the exact dress, size and color. How will I know if I am getting a good price for my dress without comparing prices? Has anyone else had better luck?

These are authorized online retailers. They don't sell every designer, but they have a lot, and you can get an idea of what the suggested retail price is.

Most shops are very secretive about pricing, so I think most people just buy a dress where they've tried it on. . .

I had a specific dress in mind too right before I purchased. It helped because it was a 12' collection and there were a few pre-loved ones being sold online from tradesy and still-white. I looked at that retail price to determine that that was the crrct retail for the dress and with that my salon offered a 15% discount which they give for trunk shows. One shop I went to previoduly had the same retail pirice but only offered 10%.

I bought a Maggie Sottero dress and was told that by the bridal shop that they could go no lower than MSRP. I used bestbridalprices.com to compare and was able to get the shop to match the online price for me.

Thanks for the response. I have been wondering if bestbridalprices.com was a scam but I see that wedding wire has some pretty good reviews for the site. I've emailed them and I already received a response. The price is slightly less but definitely in the same ball park.
