Bridal Dress Salons for a Double Bride Consultation

Caitlyn, on March 11, 2020 at 10:50 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3

Hey ladies (& few gents)! I've been thinking of dress shopping and how my goal is to have both my fiance and I go dress shopping at the same time with both of our bridal parties and moms. I don't want us to see eachothers dresses or even have any idea of what the other wants, however, I want to make sure we can blindly stand side by side and make sure we look good together. I've seen it on Say Yes to the Dress, and I know that perhaps I should not expect that kind of experience from a local boutique. Any ladies from Northast Pennsylvania have any suggestions? Or anyone in general have any thoughts you'd like to share. I plan on researching a few salons and finding a few that I think would fit our needs and budget and then sending out emails seeing if it's possible. For those who have purchased their dresses already, how soon in advance did you book your consultations? I'm sure it depends on the area you're looking in, but I'm just curious.

    Hi Caitlyn,
I'm getting married in Feb. 2021, and I've had my dress for 4 months already, I went to about 8 or 9 boutiques and tried on over 40 dresses, I loved 💕 dress shopping, really exciting, I hope you both enjoy it as much as I did!Bridal Dress Salons for a Double Bride Consultation 1

If you really don’t want to see one another’s dresses, I’d advise against it. Even if you don’t see, you may hear comments (oh, I love the lace/train/etc) that will give you an idea and might spoil it.

Originally me and my future wife wanted to surprise each other with our dresses, but in effort to coordinate we eventually decided to show each other- it will still be a surprise when you see each other with your hair, makeup, accessories, etc on the day. It will still feel special.

I would definitely call boutiques in advance, but also coordinate with your entourage.
Each of you could have a "personal attendant" who would escort you to and from the dressing room, making sure you are never on the floor at the same time as your fiancee.
I know on TV they have a lot more resources, but I think that with some careful coordination and helpful volunteers, you could totally do a double appointment!
