Bridal Appointment Question

KristenMeowza, on February 4, 2014 at 8:19 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 16

Is it ok to book 2 appointments in one day?

I have an appointment at 12:30 pm at David's Bridal at the end of March. Is it too much to book a second one at a different shop the same day for around 4pm? Do bridal shops frown upon that or is that something they don't have to know? My FMIL will be visiting from out of town so I would like to do it all in one day to save her a trip. What should I do? Did you do multiple appointments in one day?

I booked 3 In one day. Just allow enough time to not rush at the appointments.

I don't think bridal shops will care- as long as you don't tell them that is. The biggest problem I see happening is that you find 'the' dress at the first place, and still go to the second appointment.

I made two appointments in one day, but I never made it to my second appointment because I fell in love with a dress at the first one. I don't think they have to know.

I think that is what I'll do. I'll book the second appointment and if I find "the one" at DB then I'll just call and cancel the other appointment. Smiley smile Thanks ladies!

They dont need to know, I had two in one day. I think you have enough time before your second appointment.

I made 2 on the same day and then 1 for the day after! I found my dress at the 3rd appointment. Just don't tell them and no worries!

We did that and it worked out great! My appointment at a different shop was at 12, and the appointment at Davids was at 2. We finished at the first shop with plenty of time then just went to the other. You don't have to tell the shop your plans Smiley smile

They don't give a shit and frankly it's none of their damn business where you're shopping or when.

I did more than shop a day multiple times before I decided on my dress and I was open to the shops about doing so. It made me feel less pressured to buy something because as soon as they started getting pushy about purchasing, I would just mention that I couldn't make a decision right now because I had one more appointment to go to. I don't think you need to feel guilty about them finding out that you're doing two in one day.

That's what I'm thinking too, @JC. I might be so pooped after DB's I may not even want to go to a second appointment! haha.

I got my dress at David's and found that looking online ahead of time to narrow in on "my favorites" (choices/budget) helped save a lot of time because I just showed the consultant which dresses I wanted to try. Personally, I picked a few different shapes to see which looked best on me and then honed in on the shape that worked. Hope that helps!

If you already know kind of what you want, just focus on those dresses. I had been doing 2 appointments a day, but I change clothes quickly, and if I knew I didn't like it before leaving the dressing room I didn't even entertain it, just took it right off.

I've never done it but it's not to say I would not have. Since I have some time before my wedding I have just been doing 1 at a time each week. I've been to 3 salons so far, As long as you give yourself enough time between appointments you should be fine. Also, I know this varies alot based on what type of bridal shops are in your area some of them hold your cc if you dont make it. I have booked 2 different salons so far in (NJ) and each had a $25 cancel fee if you don't give at least 24hrs notice. So if you fall in love with a dress at 1 salon but the other has this policy that would be the only issue. Otherwise it's none of their business.

The bridal shops expect that you will be shopping around, and you don't have to tell them anything if you don't want to. I love to shop, but I don't think I could handle more than one appointment in one day. Even after I found my dress I told them I needed to come back to look at veils because I was too overwhelmed to keep at it lol
