So I posted 2 weeks ago that, (while FH and I were on the beach in Florida) I spontaneously suggested that we switch our long-planned destination wedding in Vegas to a beach wedding, here in San Diego. With only 6 months to go, FH was totally cool with it. So when we returned from our trip, I found the perfect beachfront hotel that (surprisingly) had our date available and filled out the city permit to have the ceremony on the beach behind the hotel.
Of course, we didn’t want to cancel our Las Vegas venue & vendors until we signed a contract and were locked into a new venue. Well, last Friday we signed the contract and paid the new deposit.
So, last night I finally decided to email each of our vendors in Vegas. And… WOW!!! I didn’t expect it to be that touching. Those vendors have been booked since mid 2019 (for 2 years now) and the postponement caused us to be in contact longer. So, the “breakup” hit my heart harder than I expected. But, by far, the DJ and our officiant were the hardest because they were my favorite two vendors. I even asked them both about their travel fees in hopes that they could still work our wedding in San Diego. But unfortunately, the DJ isn’t traveling this far for events right now (because it’s too far to book a wedding the day before or after ours). And the officiant is only licensed to perform weddings in Nevada (and she added that October is busy wedding season in Vegas).
So, receiving their responses sucked and, sadly, we’ll have to replace my two favorite vendors. But, the bright side is that I’m super excited with all the new wedding plans and the new vendors that we’ve booked thus far!
Only 5.5 months to go and I can’t wait for 10/30/21 to arrive!!!! 🎉🍾🎉🍾
