Break in the shoes?

Holly, on March 4, 2023 at 3:09 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7
After months of looking, I finally found my wedding day shoes. Should I break them in or wear them out before the wedding? They're ivory so I'm worried about getting them dirty.

Yeah like Alyssa said, you can break them in inside the house so they don’t get dirty.

Agree. Don't wear them out, but LIVE in them around the house. Nothing is worse than shoes that aren't broken in.

You definitely want to break them in before the ceremony. You'll want time to figure out if you need a good pair of insoles. Wear them around the house Just a bit at a time.

You could put them on at an indoor mall and wall around. Just don't spend too much there.

What material are the shoes? Leather? Silk? Anyway, I would recommend breaking them in, just be very careful where. I didn't break in my wedding shoes when I was married 37 years ago. They felt OK, but the soles were so slick: when I went to the ladies room at the reception, the rice thrown at me after the ceremony had collected in my headpiece which was a hat with a veil. When I bent down to pull up my gown, the rice fell onto the tile floor and I slipped and nearly fell. So if at all possible, do break in the shoes. Walk around the house in the shoes, and if they feel tight, wear socks. There's also a liquid shoe stretch you can use. And scratch the soles on some clean concrete pavement so you don't slip.
