I'm using curly willow for some of my centerpieces and attaching a couple flowers to the branches...similar to these below...

E - the branch shown in that pic is Manzanita & is rather pricey - some good alternatives are willow & birch. The hanging tealights can be found at any craft store. The vase can be found at the dollar store and the base is just a floral wreath that can be done either w/ fresh or silk.

I found the componets for this on a craigslist ad yesterday down in South Jersey - I didn't care for the way she did it but the componets are pretty cheap - she's looking for $350 for 10 centerpieces - which includes the 10 vases, 20 branches and the tealights and some other odds & ends. BTW, her branches are the 2" diameter - not the little cheapies :-)

If ya feel like making a trip down to AC I'll send ya the link.

I ove the idea to and was thinking of doing something similar, why pay for branches, you can just go get them from your back yard? My FH does alot of tree work lol might have him pick some up for free!

These are my escort card trees. we are hanging chipboard birds off the branches that has each persons name/table # on it. we made 4 of these (2 for bride side, 2 for groom side)

i got the manzanita branches from the flower district downtown LA. FH sawed off and evened out the bottom to attach it to a base to stand on its own. total cost of the project was about $150 for 4 of them (each about 4ft tall which is why they cost more).

i dont have candles hanging off, but maybe you could picture it? im going to hang gems off of it. you can see one in the picture.

I made my own branch centerpieces for my wedding and they came out GREAT!! I dont have pics here at work but I will try and find some when I get home.

I found branches outside and let them dry out, then I spray painted them Dark Brown. I bought silk Hydrangea's from Hobby Lobby and cut all the little flowers off and then attached them with floral wire. I bout HUGE vases from Home Goods for $9.99 each and then bought water pearls online (bulk) and floralytes also.

I filled the vases with the water pearls and put the lights inside to make it all illuminate. Then just inserted the branches. It was A LOT of work but easy and fun. Took a project that would have costed $700+ and made it $300!!

@ Renee this sounds like what I am trying to do. I would love to see pics. Also what lights did you use in the vase (battery operated?) Thanks!

Attached are two pics of pecan branch centerpieces; we have plenty on the property and they're strong enough to support hanging votives. I add stones or flat glass marbles to the container to support the branches.

Just a warning- branches are not cheap. If you're super budget conscious, you need to look at other options. Good news is you have plenty of time and can price shop to get good deals. But storing them is difficult...

I made 12 of these for my wedding. All were different shapes, best part the branches were free! I placed 3 cylinder glass candle holders with red pillar candles on the base and several votives and then added some "diamond" rocks

I used branches with candles and flowers as the decor for our guestbook table. I will be posting my wedding pics soon (I'll be sure to post one of the table). They look great, but they can be very expensive. Less flowers but more work...keep that in mind.

Definitely adding to my watch list. I decided last week that I would do branch centerpieces with candles and maybe petals.
