Bra or No Bra?

Katie, on February 26, 2016 at 8:29 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 26

I go for my alterations appointment on Sunday. Till this point I had just planned on wearing no bra, seeing as my dress is strapless. My question is, is it best to wear a bra and shape wear or does it matter?

I have a fitting tonight, and I have a strapless dress also. I'm going without a bra. The bodice of my dress is pretty structured, so I think I can get away with it once it's fitted.

Another option is having cups sewn in, if you want some support/coverage but still want to skip wearing a strapless bra.

Depends on the dress. Mine had enough structure in the bodice that I was fine without one.

Mine is strapless as well, I thought about getting sticky boobs but I don't think I'm wearing a bra. Comfort all the way

Depends. Mine has a built in corset so I'm not wearing a bra or shape wear. Mine is also strapless.

Depends on what you're comfortable with - strapless bra and shape wear, long line bra, or have cups sewn in. Would you feel more secure wearing something underneath?

It really depends. When I wore a bra with mine I had some overflow that looked like awkward fat lol. When I tried it on without a bra it all went away. I'm going to talk to my seamstress about what she's thinks we should do, maybe have cups sewn in or something.

I have my first alterations appointment next month. When I booked the appointment, I was told to bring/wear any footwear and undergarments that I'll be wearing on my wedding day. In terms of a bra, my dress has a keyhole back so I'm having cups sewn in.

That is a big difference!! I'm a C cup but don't have "perky" breasts (currently breastfeeding)! Is there a way to have some cleavage without a bra?

I have a keyhole back so a bra isn't an option. Cups are usually pretty inexpensive to have sewn in, and a safer bet than a stick on bra. Or really a strapless. My strapless bras ALWAYS slide down until it looks like I have 4 boobs haha

I planned on getting just cups but the way my dress is made it needed the stupid a line bra to keep from pinching in the middle of my waist. Ugh. Doesn't look like I'll be sitting much at my reception LOL. If you can get by with just cups do it!!

A strapless bra in my size costs $90. Having cups sewn in was $10.

It wil depend on the fit of your dress. I tried some on that lifted the girls well with no bra, some left me looking flat. Decide after you pick your dress Smiley smile

Katie- what does your dress look like? with mine I'm pretty covered so cleavage isn't an issue. Do you have a picture of it?

I am actually going to try on the dress I want with out a bra. I already tried it on before but the bra they had me in was not the correct fit and my boobs ended up in my face lol. I want some cleavage but not enough I can eat straight off of.

I had cups sewn into mine. Just do that. It gives you the support and shape without having to try and keep it up.

I don't have a picture of it on my phone. It's actually very similar to your dress!

I went with no bra because I had a corset back that could be tightened and hold the ladies in.
