Boys in wedding?

Futuremrsm, on August 12, 2019 at 3:39 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 12
So my FH has two little brothers. We want to include them in the ceremony, but when we get married they will be 7 and 10. I feel like that's too old to be ring bearers, is there any other way to include them in the ceremony?

My ring bearers were 6 and 9. You can make them junior groomsmen. We also had a junior groomsman but he was 12 at the time.

You could ask which they would prefer- ring bearer or jr groomsman? I don’t think they’re too old, but that’s me.

I don't think that's too old for ring bearers actually

My MOH’s son is 10 and very firmly informed me that 10 was too old to be a ring bearer. That’s a baby job apparently. *rolleyes*
I ‘d just ask them if they want to be ring bearers or groomsmen.

I know they would say the same thing so we weren't going to ask haha. But unfortunately if we did groomsmen the sides would be way too uneven

I think 7 is still young enough to be a ring bearer. Like others have suggested, they can be junior groomsmen or perhaps ushers if they are mature enough? Hand out programs or greet folks when they arrive at the venue?

If they are shy then ring bearer but if outgoing an usher or Jr groomsmen would be nice.

When I was 9, my older sister (26) got married. I was too old to be a flower girl, so she put me in charge of the guestbook/gift table.

My 5 year old will be a junior groomsman. That’s always an option.

I don't think they are too old either. But if you feel they are to old then might be best to find another spot for them. They could go anywhere from handing out the itinerary at the Ceremony, be Ushers, or simple walking down the aisle with funny/cute signs like "Don't worry ladies, I'm still single!" If all else, see if they want to be in the wedding or sit with a relative during the Ceremony.

We are making my FHs 8 year old brother our "ring security" and he loves the idea.

Assuming that ring bearer and junior groomsmen aren't an option, could they do a reading or be in charge of the guest book? They could also usher or escort MOB down the aisle.
