bow with veil

Anonymous, on December 1, 2012 at 10:59 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9

My FH loves when I have a hairbow in (bow, flower, anything) and his one request during the whole wedding planning..is that I walk down the aisle wearing one. I planned on doing one with a birdcage. well I am super insecure about my upper arms and felt like I hit the jackpot when I realized a layered fingertip veil would be great for hiding them. not hiding them obviously... but some cover up makes me feel so much better. so here I am with a dilemma.. surely I can't wear both right? a bow with a veil? I've been googling alllllll over and can't find any pics. I'm wanting to wear my hair 1/2 up, and then put it all up for the reception. I asked him about doing the veil for the ceremony and the bow for the reception... of course he says I can do what I want.. but his one request is still for me to have the bow in when I walk down the aisle to him. anyone have any photos of this look working?

But he won't be able to see the bow when you're walking down the aisle because your back will be to him . . . men! I Googled "bow veil" and found some ideas. I agree with you about the fingertip veil being so flattering, but then I've never cared for birdcage veils.

    What about something like this:

but instead of the rhinestone/lace embellishment, have a flower or bow. What does your dress look like? It would be a good idea to play up some element from your dress in the veil.

Jen P posted some pics of her wedding with a veil similar to this (though I think even prettier). I think it would work with a bow or flower attached. Here is the link to Jen's thread:

BTW - you have to scroll down the page in the first link to see the pic with the veil.

Thank you ladies... my dress is the Maggie sottero Eden so I was thinking abt having lace on the veil to match.. but again... if I'm going to pull off a bow, seems like to much. keep the comments coming please : )

How are you doing your hair? And what kind of bow are we talking about, like placement for the bow, where do you usually wear it? I was thinking what if you wear the veil low and a bow above your hairstyle or in the front. Even a headband with a bow might work.

Love your dress! How do you usually wear a bow? Clip in or hairband? You could always do a shabby-chic flower which includes lace, like this one:

    http://www.etsy.com/listing/112704091/lace-flower-ivory-hair-flower-ivory?ref=sr_gallery_34&ga_search_query=lace+flower&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=CA&ga_search_type=all&ga_facet=lace+flower

If you go with something like what I posted before, I would do a simple veil though - definitely not a lace edge. I would just incorporate the lace into the bow or flower.

I love bows, my nick name at work was Minnie Mouse because I wore a different bow everyday. I think both of these are super cute!

Liz f, I will be wearing it 1/2 up. the problem with a low veil is it doesn't cover my upper arms. that's the benefit of the veil to me in the first place : / michelle love that bow you posted! it will be a lot like that one. I wear it to the side..above my ear. Josh's girl, that last pic is exactly the type of pic I'm looking for. what did you type in to find it? I'm having no luck finding good examples

I just typed BOW VEIL into google, 4th page down has better examples.

I think you could take this photo into any bridal shop and they could make it easily.. here is another I found for sale!
