Boutonnieres vs lapel pins

PoshBride, on August 3, 2015 at 6:04 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9

FH is pretty indifferent so I'm coming to WW. I'm not a big fan of boutonnieres so I brought the idea of rose lapel pins for FH and all the groomsmen. He genuinely likes it but it always ends with "whatever you like babe is fine with me"...which has been the response for a lot of the not so big stuff, ha!

Which looks better?? We also toyed with the idea of just pocket squares...but the fact that it has the button hole on the lapel screams that it needs something poked in there.

Here is what we're working with.

Lapel pin (this isn't the exact design but a possible choice)

    Regular boutonniere

Can't you use a lapel pin and a boutonniere? Like use the lapel pin to secure the boutonniere -- maybe through the inside? **I ask because we are doing boutonnieres but I bought my FH a lapel pin with pictures of his grandparents on either side (as part of his gift).

The rose lapel pins are very very cute!! (and different of course)

Wow same here i have been going back and forth with this decision as well all week i think a lapel pin looks so modern. Or we may use a carnation flower I'm over boutonniere's I don't like the stem

Let me know what you decide

Keep in mind, that the buttonhole is not always cut, so you can't put a stem through it.

Boutonnieres frequently get crushed with all the hugging going on. I'd go with a flat lapel pin.

My FH didn't want a boutonniere either. He's wearing a brooch - This brooch and his suit

I love lapel pins! You can get really creative with them and it give a sleek modern look imo. Plus you can use it again. I vote lapel pin!

I would buy whatever that model is selling....

But seriously, the lapel pin is perfectly acceptable and incredibly dashing, if you ask me.
