Boutonnieres and pocket squares together?

northbeach, on September 7, 2011 at 1:10 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6

If the groom and groomsmen are wearing grey suits with floral boutonnieres on their lapels, should they also have pocket squares to match their ties too? Or do you skip the pocket square so it doesn't compete with the boutonnieres?

I read somewhere you aren't supposed to do both. I'll try to remember where.

When FH was trying on tuxes, the tux guy said that you can do both. I think that we are doing both, but still deciding. I made the tux guy pin a fake boutineere on FH while he had the pocket square.

We're having both as well. My FH has been in a few weddings and he's always worn both. I know because each time we have to frantically search the web looking to see how to fold them properly right before each wedding!
