Boutonniere Alternatives

Bree, on May 21, 2019 at 11:04 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11

So I'm not a huge fan of flowers, so me and my girls are carrying small lanterns instead of bouquets. I'm adding a small pretty like tulle and maybe some white flowers to kind of break it up a bit. But I'm not sure what to do for boutonnieres. Our theme is rustic and galvanized and lanterns but I don't want to do the shotgun boutonnieres because it doesn't really fit my groom, but wanted to see if there were any thoughts on boutoniere alterantives!

We are just doing pocket squares. We are having a rustic themed wedding with a touch of "fancyness" lol. Our colors are purple and gray. Myself and my girls have bouquets and the moms and dads have bouts but the groom and groomsmen will have pocket squares.

We won't be doing a formal suit for our boys, just a vest and tie. Do vests have pockets on them?

Oh ok. I don't think vests have pockets. MmM, maybe you can find some nice manly pins that fit in with your theme.

I agree with suit pins. Here are some examples (these are on suits obviously, but you can pin straight to vests)

Following because I’m looking for ideas as well! So far we’re thinking pocket squares for the groomsmen and flowers for FH and our dads.

Some vests do have pockets depending on the brand. If you can, test one out from the shop you're renting from. We needed to double check a detail about my FH's suite and Men's Wearhouse was more than happy to help. If you're buying online, you may need to order your groom's vest early to confirm.

    Hi there Bree Smiley smile

The lantern sounds lovely, a great alternative to bouquets!

For a boutonniere alternative, would you consider a pin or badge as pps mentioned? You could incorporate your FS personality and/or interests.

Here are a couple of ideas I found on Pinterest.

Do you like any of these ideas? What are your FS's interests and hobbies?

He doesn't really have any interest or hobbies. Our wedding is in November and we are using pinecones in our centerpieces so I've thought about doing that with some babies breath.
