Bourbon recommendations?!?!

Hi everyone! I asked my Pastor what he wanted to drink at our vow renewal in June and he responded with bourbon (pic below). Has anyone tried this before? Should I be adding that to our drink list for the other guests? I'm personally not a fan of bourbon and hardly drink it, so I'm looking for some...

PS: Love my Pastor!

FH and I always have at least 2 types of whiskey at any given time. We look like boozers when we go to total wine because we by soooo much. Lol. We really only go every couple of months because there is no total wine near us and BevMo is a rip-off.

You can get a 1.75 of makers for like $50 way more bang for your buck, and I don't know anyone that doesn't like makers

Bulleit is the best price-friendly good bourbon out there, IMO. Their Rye is great too. If you can spend a little more, Angel's Envy or Basil Harden are my go to's.

I agree with Ashley (we're in KY near Buffalo Trace) about Maker's. My mom loves Woodford Reserve. A lot of my friends go gaga for Pappy Van Winkle's, but I'm happy with Maker's Mark. We usually give Buffalo Trace as a gift to my uncles (and they give us their blackberry cordial that they make lol).

I'm a fan of Buffalo Trace as well. I haven't had many other bourbons (I'm a Scotch girl), but Makers is pretty good too.

    Smiley laugh

I'm hopping back in because you're local and I forgot!

You could always consider some local distilleries: Leopold Bros. is Amazing. Breckenridge Bourbon and Peach Street Bourbon out of Palisade is also very good. IDK how they do these, but maybe you could buy him a tour of a distillery?

@Cathy I heard Stranahan's got bought out by a corporate company? I didn't do my homework on the matter, but I have a grumpy ex-coworker who told me about it

    Did some homework:

    http://www.westword.com/restaurants/stranahans-colorado-whiskey-has-been-sold-to-an-east-coast-liquor-distributor-5732078

" New York-based Proximo Spirits has purchased Stranahan's. He provided no other details."

"Proximo is a liquor distributor that that also owns Hangar 1 vodka, Kraken Black Spiced Rum and 1800 Tequila."

At least the company that bought them makes the good shit?
