Bouquet Toss without garter toss?

Lauren, on August 12, 2018 at 6:26 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 9

Has anyone done or been to a wedding that did the bouquet toss but then just went back to dancing without doing a garter toss? I personally think the garter toss process is a little weird and have neutral feelings about the bouquet toss. Since I am the first of my close friends and cousins to get married I still plan on doing the bouquet toss. The girls at my bachelorette weekend were also disappointed when I talked about possibly skipping it. Thoughts?

I think we might do this too. I have no desire to do a garter toss, I've always thought it was embarrassing and weird.

Same! No garter toss for us, just bouquet! Personally, I don’t think anyone will miss it.

I received a free garter from a Bridal Expo and I’m thinking of just having my FH carry that one in his pocket and when it’s time for the bouquet and garter toss he just tosses that one 😆

I agree that the garter toss is a little uncomfortable and plan on skipping that but doing the bouquet toss. I plan to ask all ladies to participate in the bouquet toss single or not, and whoever catches it gets a bottle of wine 😊

I went to a wedding where they did a generation dance instead of a bouquet toss. The couple that was married the longest got the bouquet. I thought that was nice. The DJ player music and all married couples would go onto the dance floor and the DJ would start it off by saying married for 1 day (bride & groom) married for 3 months... 6... months... 1 year etc all the way up who ever the last couple was. It ended up being her grandparents but it’s cool to see the couples out there and how long they have been married for.

Yes, most weddings I’ve attwnded have only done the bouquet toss. I’ve only seen the garter toss happen a couple times. Totally fine to skip just that

Definitely...I can't think of the last wedding I went to that had a garter toss, it is kind of cringeworthy and tacky to me. I personally would love to do the bouquet toss but I am getting married in my 30s and I don't have many single friends left and it feels as if I would be putting those that are single on the spot. Also, I really want to keep my bouquet!

    Hey Lauren!!

    Congratulations on getting married!

I've been to a lot of weddings where they don't do the garter toss and just do a bouquet toss! What did you end up doing? I'd love to hear all about your big day!!
