Bouquet Toss Alternative Ideas

Dj Tanner, on January 18, 2021 at 12:03 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 18
I’m looking for good ideas/alternatives to the standard “bouquet toss “. Basically a Covid friendly bouquet toss idea that I could present to my state/venue if they won’t allow us to go forth with the traditional toss. Some of my female friends keep talking about the bouquet toss and how they’re pumped for it etc etc. I haven’t told them yet that a bouquet toss might not be possible.

ALSO, I’m only looking for alternative fun ideas. For example if your suggestion is simply “don’t have one “. That’s really not what I’m looking for.
With that said, I would really appreciate any suggestions/ideas that any of you can come up with. Thanks Brides!

I am not respondimg with don't have one rather what's your concern covid wise with having one? Didn't you say you were planning on your guests being tested prior to attending?

Yes, as Ive said prior we are still working on that with my state however as I also indicated in a prior post we are not looking to make out with each other. We are simply just looking to try to get our state to Lighten up on some of the more stricter rules in place. i.e. no standing up outside for 6 hours unless going to the bathroom etc. as I said in the prior post we still plan on having a safe Covid friendly wedding. Hence why I’m asking other brides for any Covid friendly bouquet toss ideas in case the regular bouquet toss won’t be possible. But thank you for your concern.

I apologize as you stated multiple times as you said in the previous post but I don't read every single post here on WeddingWire so I think I've missed some things. Again I guess my question is what's your concern about the bouquet toss being covid friendly is it that people going to be too close to each other? If not maybe you can have certain spots on the floor that are 6 feet apart and ask him when to wear a mask that wants to participate. I'm not trying to be disrespectful or nothing I'm just asking because if you're having a reception I feel people are going to be in close proximity socialize and we're dancing so at that point with the bouquet toss I feel like social justice out the window. However if you choose not to have when I hope someone here can give you a great idea as well that's covid-19.

How about a lottery style game? Every single woman in your party gets a number, and you pick the number from a bowl in front of all the guests.

Yes actually this is one of the options that is currently on my list, but some of my home girls are pretty competitive lol so I was trying to think of some things that would be more of a challenge sort of thing. But this is an awesome suggestion and is on my list! Thank you so much for the suggestion!

Unfortunately once a state/county places those restrictions, the only ones who can bring about and change them are CDC and other higher up officials. A random couple getting married will be told to comply like everyone else. Hence why some couples ignore the regulations. They are strict to keep people safe in an attempt to end this virus sooner if they all work together comply.

What about some kind of game the DJ could lead to give away the table centerpieces?

Yeah, my fiancé and I were thinking about having some sort of “solve the puzzle” thing and whoever solves it first dings a bell but I feel like that could either be great or terrible because depending on how challenging the puzzle is they might be there for 20 minutes LOL

One of the popular things people do as an alternative is they simply give the bouquet away to the couple in attendance who have been married the longest

Here is an article with some alternatives: https://www.theknot.com/content/amphtml/alternatives-to-garter-and-bouquet-toss

You could also do a trivia game, and have the winner receive the bouquet!

If you have a flower girl or someone really special, you can throw just to them. I threw mine just to my little sister (she is special needs, mentally a child) and she LOVED it 🌸

♥️ Omg I love this ideas! She was probably so excited!
A small dream of mine has always been to hand off my bouquet to someone and then have them get proposed to at my wedding, LOL but obviously I can’t pressure someone to put a ring on their SOs finger hehe

Would it be too corny to have musical chairs with chairs spaced out? I could see that being competitive. Another could be balloons that you throw darts at. If the balloon has a flower in it they win or a scrap of paper. Competitive corn hole anyone? Watermelon bowling is another cute one just bowl down water bottles or wine bottles.

    1 – Face the Cookie

Place a cookie on someone’s forehead. They have to use only their face muscles (no hands) to get it into their mouth.

    2 – Defying Gravity

Give each player three items like balloons. They have to keep all three balloons up in the air for a minute.

    3 _Choosing Cups

Set out like 25 cups, filling all of them part way with water. Put a sticker on the bottom of some of the cups. Players have to pick one cup at a time, trying to find a sticker.

Trying to think of something classy...Smiley xd
