Boudoir Book Stress

Sarah, on August 12, 2019 at 1:16 PM Posted in Planning 0 4
I feel like I’ve been posting more and more the closer I get to the big day. I got my boudoir pictures done July 13th (almost a month ago). My originally photographer ended up moving unexpectedly but she referred me to this one, who seems to have great reviews and is well known in our area. She originally told me her turn around time is 2-3 weeks. Naturally, I’m pretty anxious to see them. So I emailed her last week (right at the 3 week mark that I was quoted) and was very polite. I expressed my concern that the book wouldn’t be done in time for the wedding. She told me she was working on editing my pictures and wasn’t quite done, but was sure we had plenty of time for my book to be made.

Well it’s been another week and I still haven’t gotten my pictures. It’s been almost a month since my shoot and my wedding is just over a month away (38 days). I emailed the photographer this morning and still haven’t heard back. She keeps telling me we have plenty of time for the book to come in. But after I get he pics, I have to pick my favorites. Then she has to design the book, it has to be created, and shipped. I’m beyond nervous it won’t be here for the wedding. I paid a ton of money for this and am pretty upset that I was quoted 2-3 weeks and it’s been al ost a month. It’s super important to me that I have it the day of the wedding. There’s plenty of thinks I have to worry about in the upcoming weeks and this shouldn’t be one of them. Any advice? At I being too pushy with her?

I think with your wedding still over 30 days away that you'll be okay until the next week or two. If she doesn't have it by then, then worry

    Hi there Sarah!

I'm sorry that this situation is causing you to worry. I certainly would be the same way. If someone gave me a lead time of 2 - 3 weeks, I would expect it to be adhered to! Did you ask about this in your email?

You do have a good amount of time left until the wedding so try not to worry. If she believes she will have it done in time, she must be confident in her workflow.

Did she respond to your email from Monday yet?

No response to the email. I left a voicemail yesterday as well with no response. So that’s stressing me out more. I don’t know how pushy to be

I get you totally. Did you have any type of contract with the photographer? Or was it more of an oral agreement on the lead time?
