Sorry guys for the clickbaity title, but I don't know how else to describe this. So about 2-3 months ago, I did a boudoir photo shoot with my wedding photographer because she was offering a deal. She put the pictures on her website, but you needed a password to get to the album. I thought, perfect, no one will know except me and when my fiance gets them on our wedding day. I got the pictures back, and I'm happy with them. All I have to do is order them.

Well, this week received a message from a "Cindy Jones" and they sent me one of my pictures from my shoot! I don't if they somehow got the password, if she got hacked, or what. I'm slightly freaking out. I reported it to facebook as "sexual blackmail", because I didn't know what else to put. I didn't accept the conversation invite, hoping it will just go away. I also can't see the profile of the person who sent it. I'm scared to even order the pictures now.

Is there anything I can do about this?

Did Cindy Jones demand money? What was in the message?

@ no, there is a way that you can see the content of the message without actually opening it up. I'm a little foggy on the set-up for that, but that's how my FB is set up. If people that I don't know and are not friends with currently try to message me, it will show as a message request. I can open the request and view the message, but it does not show a "read" notification to the other party.

OP, are you going to come back? How did you see the message if you didn't accept the conversation invite?

Sorry this happened though. Contact the photographer.

Call the photographer. The police won't be able to do anything about it.

I would do an image search to see if they're in other locations online and let the photographer know.

Hi guys, sorry I didn't update sooner!

So I spoke to my photographer last night and she said that Zenfolio (who she hosts her pictures through) notified her a few months ago that someone tried to hack her site. Zenfolio said that no pictures were taken and nothing has been compromised. She said she took down all the boudoir shoots at that time. But since Zenfolio told her that every thing was safe, she didn't notify anyone. She called Zenfolio yesterday and asked why someone would have my picture (I sent her a screenshot of the message). They said that it was most likely the cover photo of the album and they did a screen grab. This is most likely the case because it was the first photo in the album.

As to the FB message. It was a message request. I can see the content, but I did not accept the conversation. If I accepted they would know that I read the message. If I left it as is, they wouldn't know if I've even seen it or not. I'm guessing they have the one picture and would threaten me that they have the whole album to get money or something. The picture doesn't have any nudity, just me in a bra and panties. Honestly, it's probably one of my least favorite from the shoot lol. So for now, i'm just gonna let it be. If they send me more pictures then I'm going to get really upset. I haven't told anyone about this yet because I want this to be a surprise for my fiance.

Thanks for all of your support and advice!

Wait, the album cover that people can see before they put in the password is you in your underwear? That's a strange set-up with the promise of security

I'm so sorry this happened to you, and I hope this is the last you hear of it. Honestly, I am surprised your photographer didn't notify you. At the very least she should have because your photo storage spot changed when she removed the boudoir photos. My photographer uses zen folio and o still occasionally log in to download photos from my engagement shoot back on 2014. I'd be surprised if they were suddenly gone!
