So my mom insists both my and her are walking me down the isle. She had it done this way in her wedding and insists that is how I'm doing it as well. Has anybody seen this before or even done it? I don't have a problem with it, I'm just very traditional with the ceremony since my whole family is Catholic and every Catholic wedding I've been to is strictly traditional.

My mom is insisting that she walk me down the aisle so that I don't have to choose between my dad and stepdad. I don't know how to go about telling her that I'd much rather my Papa walk me because he's my only grandpa left alive and if he passes before the wedding I want to go solo. I feel like deciding who walks the bride down the aisle can be a touchy subject in some families.

I think how it's going to go for me is I will be sitting in the carriage with my mom as the horse comes around to the entrance of the isle and then mom will hand me over to my father as its more symbolism since my step father came into my life when I was 5 and really did become my father figure.

My mom actually asked if I'd be okay with her joining my dad and I.

It made me really happy, and I told her I'd love her to. Was never something I'd thought of, but I think it could be a great moment for us.

I am actually having my two brothers walk me down. My mom is going to walk in with my FMIL and light the unity candles. I think it will be nice for my brothers to say "who gives her away?" "Her mother and we do"

Both of my friend's parents walked her down the aisle and gave their blessing for her marriage at her Catholic wedding. I don't think it was called 'giving away' in the ceremony.
