Loving this thread- so many book recs! Have a note going on my phone now. And please don't knock reading on a honeymoon- if you're a bibliophile it's one of the most relaxing things you can do on a vacation- as a PP mentioned, one of my favorite things to do with FH is read in a peaceful garden suite or on a balcony on vacation while drinking coffee. Nothing to do with a lack of physical intimacy- (eye roll). Everything to do with a love of literature!

We saw our honeymoon as a nice and well deserved vacation, so reading on the beach was definitely one of the top things on my to-do list besides DH. I read Tulip Fever, Sharp Objects (same author as Gone Girl), and Gone Girl while laying on the beach with a drink in my hand - it was glorious.

I suppose OP can take a small break to read in between the constant, non-stop, marathon humping that you're apparently supposed to do on your honeymoon like a nerd (insert eye roll).

Yes to reading on your honeymoon. I would have read several books if we had vacationed to a beach. We went to London and Edinburgh, so spent most of our time exploring these cities, and I only ended up reading one book. My recommendations are The Book of Secrets by Elizabeth Joy Arnold; Tiny Beautiful Things by Cheryl Strayed; The House Girl by Tara Conklin; Wool by Hugh Howey; The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin; The Circle by Dave Eggers; The Glass Blower by Petra Durst-Benning; The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson; and Gertrude Bell by Georgina Howell.

I always recommend woman in cabin 10, behind closed doors or girl last seen. They are all pretty messed up in a psychological thriller type of way

Luckiest Girl Alive was a good read- kind of a mystery/thriller but snarky and witty main character made it funny too.

Right now I am reading Pretty Girls, but that book is heavy- so might not be what you want to read on a vacation.
