Books to Read on Honeymoon!

ARudell, on August 17, 2017 at 9:03 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 29

Recommendations for easy, interesting books to read on the beach, with a drink in my hand? My favorites that I've read on the beach in the past include:

Wild

The Martian

Modern Romance

Middlesex

Water For Elephants

Gone Girl

The Kite Runner

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

I am not a reader, really... I do read once in a while and I am certainly not reading on my honeymoon. I just came here to tell you I hear so many great things about The Kite Runner and I actually cant wait to read it!! (it's a shame I haven't read it yet, I live right next to Barnes & Nobles!!)

Water for Elephants is really good.

Pick up We are Water by Wally Lamb. It is the best book I have read in the last 5 years.

In a Dark Dark Wood by Ruth Ware. It's spooky and mysterious but nothing gruesome. You'll be able to sleep at night. I loved it! Was so sad when I finished it. Huge page turner and it takes place during a hen party! I'm jealous of everyone who gets to read it for the first time.

If you like a good mystery, I just finished the Cormoran Strike novels. They are written by JK Rowling but they are adult books and they are really captivating.

Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins was also a really good suspense. Similar to Gone Girl. But I preferred Into the Water by Paula Hawkins. It was really good!

The best book I read last year was the Nightingale. It's very interesting but if you want a lighter book, Big Little Lies was very good. That was the only Liane Moriarty that I enjoyed.

I second Big Little Lies but I couldn't put it down and it is a bigger book. So I would be hesitant to read it on my honeymoon. lol But I am an obsessive reader, so maybe not everyone stays up until 2am to finish a book.

Yes, reading on the honeymoon! My favorite part of our vacations is sitting on our balcony in the morning, looking at the ocean, drinking room service coffee and reading!

Don't let people knock you for reading on your honeymoon! I'm an avid reader and totally did.

If you liked Gone Girl, I suggest All is Not Forgotten. I bought it in the airport in Spain and nearly finished it on my 8 hour flight.

If you loved the kite runner, you have to read A Thousand Splendid Suns.

Also a quick read, Behind Closed Doors.

Yes reading on your honeymoon! DH and I spent several days of our honeymoon on the beach. He likes his music; I like my kindle!

I'm in the middle of Stranger In The House. It has a Gone Girl vibe to it.

Richelle Mead's Dark Swan series (4 books) was my honeymoon series.

The author of Kite Runner has another book And The Mountains Echoed that is great

One of my favorite book is The Language of Flowers. I just finished Defending Jacob which was good, but maybe a little heavy for a honeymoon read.

Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein

I just finished it, on the plane ride to and from a work trip. It's fantastic!

ETA: I'm writing down a lot of new titles from this thread. Great post!

Water for Elephants is possibly my favorite book! If you like that you should pick up By the Water's Edge by the same author Sara Gruen. That one is great too!
