Book hair & makeup before trial?

Did any of you book your hair/makeup artist prior to your trial? I'm getting down to the wire for my date (this is the one big thing I've been blowing off booking). My top choice is still available but probably won't be for long... she doesn't have a trial available for a couple weeks and needs a deposit to hold my date. I'm considering just putting down the deposit before my trial but am wondering if this seems to risky... but if I don't I risk her being booked by my trial and then I'm back at square one. Thoughts? She has great reviews and I like her work on her website.

I also booked my hair and make up without doing a trial first. I did a lot of research and went off high recommendations from my friends who recently got married in the area. I have also gone through their social media to make sure it was someone I would like. My trial will be in November. I am only slightly worried about hair, but have a back up plan.

I think you can do either way. I am not stressing about it because of the recommendations I have received. Personal opinion on that, but maybe I am also to the point where I don't care anymore and I refuse to continue to second guess myself.
