Bodysuits or strapless bra?

Erica, on September 22, 2019 at 11:55 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 31
Hi ladies!! I just purchased my wedding dress and I love it!! However, I am rather large chested and this dress is backless as you can see in the picture. From the front you can tell that I'm sagging which is the exact opposite of how I want to look for my future hubby! What would you recommend to wear underneath this dress? I was thinking maybe a backless bodysuit or one of those pasty bras which typically have terrible support 🙃 Thanks in advance!

Your seamstress might be able to sew in push up cups that would give you the lift you're looking for! Congratulations, it's beautiful on you!!

Hey dress twin!!! I'm planning on asking to sew cups into my dress. I feel like because the back is lower, and there is mesh in the back, that a strapless bra will be seen. I bought a trumpet petticoat that also is a bit slimming in the hips, so I don't think I'll wear any spanx. Looks gorgeous on you!!! Are you going to wear a veil?

Padded sewn in cups and boob tape. My dress didn’t have any lift either and those sticky bras made it worse.

Wow you look soo pretty in it too!! Love that we have the same dress! Did they tell you how to tie it up so you can dance in it? I am not sure if I will wear a veil, I do really want to wear a headpiece similar to the pic attached though!

I have heard about boob tape but have no idea how to even use it. Are there any good YouTube videos that show how to apply it properly so it stays on all night?

Thank you!!. They didn't tell me, but I'm planning on asking for an American bustle when I go for my first fitting in a few weeks! I LOVE that hairpiece! And that veil looks pretty with it! I bought a similar hairpiece. I also bought a cathedral veil from Amazon for like $18. It's just plain tulle, but it is GORGEOUS! It's super soft, and it looks so pretty with the dress. I wish I had pictures of it...

I was unsure if I wanted a cathedral veil at first because it didn't want to cover up the beautiful train. I decided since it was only $18, I'd give it a shot, and I'm so glad I did because it looks beautiful.

I don’t actually use the tape kind but the silicone adhesive ones, they came with an instruction manual. There’s a lot on Amazon. They can react to sweat but so far no problems with them slipping.

Wow that is insanely cheap for a veil! I would love to see how that looks next time you try it on!! Did your get your hairpiece from Amazon as well? I loved the one at David's bridal but it was $150!! I think Etsy makes them for reasonable prices.

It's beautiful! i would check with a seamstress first and get their opinion. you have plenty of time until oct '20, my month too Smiley smile so once your dress comes in, get an opinion from a seamstress right away and see if she can put cups or something in there!

Stunning!!! And are you wearing that belt you have on in the picture as well? They put a belt on me but it was chunky and horrible.

Thank you!!! Yes, I'm wearing that belt! I bought it at David's Bridal. They originally put a chunky one on me too but thought since the dress has a lot of applique and sparkle, it only needs a dainty belt.

Can they put cups in your gown and tighten/shorten the straps to give the effect of a bra?

Gorgeous gown by the way. Your back is my back goals Smiley heart

Hey girl! I have one more question for my dress twin. Have you gotten estimates on the costs for the american bustle alteration and any other alterations yet? Also, are you getting alterations done at david's bridal? I heard that alterations can cost just as much as the dress!

Hey! No I haven't gotten any estimates, I have my first fitting in a couple weeks so I'll find out how much it'll all cost then! I am not going to David's Bridal, I've heard the same thing about their alterations!!! I'm just going to a local seamstress!

I was thinking about choosing a local seamstress too! The lady at David's Bridal told me that hemming the dress to the length I want starts at $150 minimum! Thanks for the suggestion!
