Board Games

Amanda, on April 5, 2019 at 1:23 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 9
I'm getting married May 18th 2019. We are thinking about having a table set up with board games, card games and other interactive games so our guests can hopefully break the ice and form small bonds.

Would you find this fun as a guest? Have yes done something similar? I would love some feed back! Thank you. ❤

My FH and I love board games, so I think this would be super fun! TJmaxx/Marshall's have some cute old-fashioned or more "decorative" styles of some games like monopoly, LIFE, etc. if you are looking for some?

Love the idea! We usually just play games with our friends who all own several games. We just have uno and Disney princess monopoly and other kids themed games, so I'll take all the suggestions. 😂
If we do the game idea I'll bring all the kids games as well.

FH and I are HUGE board game nerds (we have a bunch on our registery), but at a wedding I wouldn’t be looking to play boardgames. I think it’s a know your crowd. One of my good friends did board games in the hotel bar after her wedding and I loved that Smiley smile

I personally love board games, but this would depend on the vibe/environment of your wedding. If I was attending a wedding, I wouldn't want to sit down and play a board game. I would want to socialize, walk around, and dance. However, if you are having a micro-wedding at a very small venue, then I think it could be fun.

That's kind of how I feel as well. If I attended a wedding where this was an option, I would probably think "oh, neat," and then not think about it again. But if your wedding is fairly small or you are more low key, not the traditional drink & dance type, then go for it!

One thing I will say though - if you have board games, hopefully you don't hope to hang onto them for a while - I would imagine pieces would get lost Smiley winking

Hell yeah this would be fun. You should totally get one night ultimate werewolf. Quick setup and game lengths. Fluxx is super fun as well. Both go really fast.

I think this is an awesome idea!

What games did you end up having at the reception? Did your guests love them?
