Blusher veil

Jessica, on March 30, 2017 at 4:54 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 28

What do you guys think about blusher veils?? I love them but dont know if is too old fashioned. Does it stays like that during the ceremony or when do you put it back?

The blushers were originally there so the guy couldn't see the brides face until it was too late. Marriages were seen as a business agreement and their fathers would lie about how beautiful their daughters are. So it would be pulled back at the end of the ceremony, before your first kiss.

Now, I think they are typically pulled back at the at the beginning of the ceremony, either by your father or your FH.

People generally don't use them now because they want the photos of the brides face as she walks down the aisle.

I wore a blusher! My dad pulled it back as my parents gave me away, so that DH and I could clearly see each other during the ceremony.

Personally not a fan at all. I think the symbolism is abhorrent and I want to be able to clearly see what is going on around me.

I bought a blusher, but ended up not putting over my face (I had all the layers pulled back from the start) because as much as I love my father, I feared he wouldn't lift it properly and it would end up in a tangled heap on top of my head for the ceremony.

I'm not wearing one. My fiancé and I have lived together for 2 years. I feel like it's silly to hide my face now lol

I just ordered my veil from Etsy and requested a blusher!!! I really LOVE how they look and I don't see many brides with them anymore. I think I'll have my dad pull it back.

I like them for younger brides. I am not wearing a blusher or a vail...

I'm not a fan. I think it is definitely a personal choice, though.

I tried a few on in stores and I felt very uncomfortable! Just something wasn't right - didn't fit well with me, but I did get a fingertip length veil to wear instead!

I think they are odd looking in person, but make for neat photo opportunities.
