Blowout the day before?

FutureMrsG, on May 12, 2017 at 4:26 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6

I've never had just a blowout before but can never get enough volume and bounce to my hair like they do at the salon after a cut. I have long thick hair so it takes forever to blow dry. Anybody getting a blowout the day before to add some volume?

I had a blowout that held through the rehearsal dinner. For the wedding my stylist wanted fresh washed and dried hair so the blowout was only good for the rehearsal dinner in my case. In general the blowout goes flat for me when I sleep, does yours hold? What does your stylist want for your hair?

Every hair is different and every stylist prefers different. Ask your stylist and get your hair blown out before the trial, to make sure it's the look you want.

It depends on what your hair stylist wants for your hair. Some prefer slightly dirty (washed a day or two before) while others prefer to have it washed that morning. When you have your hair trial your stylist will let you know. Plus, your stylist will be able to add volume (or should be able to) regardless what you do to your hair the day before.

To get volume you probably need some back combing and a ton of spray to keep it in place. On my hair contract it states clean dry hair with no products in it when we come in on the wedding day. Check with your stylists.

Thanks ladies! I plan on having a trial done for bridal portraits about a month before the wedding. My hairstylist didn't specify how she wanted my hair so I will definitely ask!

I don't think it would matter. But like PP said every stylist is different. When I do updo's on clients I just ask that it's clean and completely dry before they come in. Usually with a good blowdry you don't have to worry about washing it the day after.
