BLACK DRESS FOR THE BRIDESMAIDS??? DO OR DONT!

Black is pretty especially if you have a brighter color of flowers to offset it. What are your wedding colors?

It can look really classy. Especially if you offset the black with accents of a color.

Not a problem at all. Just has other colorful accents to go with it (e.g., flowers, shoes, hair accessories, sashes)

I think black on bridesmaids looks very classy and elegant. Remember its your wedding and should be how you want it. Ignore what people say because on the day it will look beautiful

Well personally I think it would be depressing if everything in the wedding is black and kind of dark.

But I think if the dresses are black but you have some other colors that are brighter and playful I think it would look very nice.

I went to a wedding once where the bridesmaids dresses were black, and each girl had the same pair of heels on, but all in different really bright colors. They also had a flower in their hair to match their shoes, and the groomsmen they were paired with had their tie match the girls' shoes! The girls' shoes were like a hot pink, electric blue, bright orange, sunshine yellow, etc. This would be super cute and because of the bright accessories, I don't think it'd be depressing at all.

My bridesmaids are wearing black but the dresses will have a blue sash. I don't see anything wrong with them wearing black, but I can see where some people might think that.

I wore a black BM dress in a wedding I was in a few years ago and the dresses were beautiful, very elegant, and the wedding looked awesome. I have no idea if there were other colors since this was before I was engaged and paid any attention to the details at weddings, but I will say that the overall look was very nice!

My bm's are wearing black with a hint of purple either in a sash or in the flowers, but I say what the hey it's your wedding and I think that they would be beautiful in whatever color you choose.

About a year ago I would not have thought black would be a good color to wear for a wedding party but I have since been to several photographer's websites where the bridesmaids and MOH have worn black and it looks soooo good. I say go with what you want!

Do it! black and white is always right! very classy. and if the family doesnt agree just pull the "its my wedding! and i'll do what i want" card :]

I think black dresses look great. Just think of it as an opportunity to show them how good it can look!

Definitely a do! I was the moh for my friend and ours were black with silver accents. She made her colors black, white, silver, and red. It looked awesome! It was so easy to pick the dresses too. We just went to the formal wear section of a department store and looked at dresses they had a lot of, and then grabbed our sizes! Not to mention, I've worn that dress a few times since, for New Year's and banquets and stuff.

Just tell your family that black is the new pink! lol

I agree with everyone. I think black BM dresses are beautiful. My FH and I will both be wearing white, and the rest of the wedding party will be wearing black. Our colors are brighter (reddish orange and coral). I intentionally chose black because, one-everyone looks good in black, and two-I know the girls can wear it more than once. Go for it if you like it. It's your wedding, you should be able to do whatever you want.

I like the black my aunt did black and apple two of us had on apple and two had on black it looked great together

Mine wore black dresses that I let them pick out. They looked great! The flowers really popped out in the pictures. You could always add sashes and shoes to brighten up.
