Black Bridesmaids dresses in the spring?

QB, on March 10, 2016 at 11:33 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 38

Hello everyone,

What are your opinions on black bridesmaids dresses in the Spring? My wedding colors for now are blush, champagne and ivory. If you are pro black dresses, what are some things you think I can do to make the dresses more appealing to the Spring?

I was in a late April wedding a few years ago with black dresses, so it totally can be done! Black is timeless. I think making sure the bouquets are very light and spring-y would make sure things look seasonally appropriate, as well as keeping the jewelry delicate instead of statement!

Bouquets and other things like colored statement jewelry would add to the look, but black dresses are totally fine.

An evening wedding would make it better. honestly May 27 is more like Summer in that the weather is hot. If black is what you want then I would say a late wedding def 6pm or later. But I really love champagne dresses so that would be my vote.

My wedding is in June and the BM dresses are black with a thin royal blue trim. Sorry about the pic lol it's my daughter trying her dress on only to discover it's still too big.

I'm pro black dresses! That's what my bridesmaids are wearing too. I think black is classic and looks good on everyone. I like twostep's ideas for how to keep it light for spring.

My bridesmaids dresses are black and my wedding is on 4/9. I didn't even think twice about the time of year when picking the colors. I don't think it matters, but maybe I am wrong. Guess I just don't care..lol I think my black, white & red colors will look great at any time of the year.

I was a bridesmaid in June with a black, floor length dress. With some poof.

It would not be my choice dress, but they flattered everyone and the pictures looked really nice.

My BMs are wearing long black dresses in May. We are having an indoor evening wedding. Black looks nice on all sizes and skin tones. Smiley smile

    Black dress, short, airy material.

    Light or bright flowers.

A color combo like this could help to keep everything more summer/spring. Of course you can change the colors of the accessories and such.

My cousin did black dresses in the spring. She did them knee length with cute peep toe pumps for the bridesmaids. They were v-neck front and back. Hair was up. Really cute!

My BM dresses are black and long and I'm in August Smiley smile They'll have some summery, airy flowers, but the wedding is super formal, so it was no surprise I chose it.

Black is timeless, matches with everything, and almost universally attractive on everyone. Plus everyone needs at least one LBD so your maids can't complain they won't be able to rewear it.

We did black just because we are on a small budget and it was really difficult to find 3 dresses in the same color blue that we picked. All my girls have black dresses of different styles and we are adding the blue to them with the same ribbon and their bouquets are all white just to brighten it up.

Black works during every season! I love MountainBrides suggestion of the pop of color with accessories!

I think it's fine for a formal, evening, indoor wedding. If your wedding is during the day, outside, I feel like BMs will get too hot in black dresses. Regardless, make sure to add a pop of color (such as what MountainBride suggested) to make it more springtime-y.

I think black is classic and looks great any time of year. Having shorter dresses or colorful accessories may make the look springier. bouquets too!

I'm getting married this May and my BMs are wearing long black dresses. They all looked beautiful in the dress. Our wedding colors are black, gold and ivory. And the wedding is on a Friday evening with the ceremony staying at 7.

I think you should do whatever you want, who cares about season and tradition and blah blah lol

A colorful bouquet and maybe statement necklaces with color, and shoes.
