I'm totally just curious, but am I the only one if "If it was my birthday and they called me out at a wedding I'd be horrified" camp?

@m - I would be right there with you! But I am also extremely shy.

I am half the time, the other half the time I'm pretty obnoxious.

But then again, I don't even tell coworkers its my birthday.

We are getting a cake, probably do a shout out, along with singing happy birthday. My photographers birthday, is actually our wedding day, my FFIL birthday is the following day, and my grandmothers birthday is following week, but i'm gonna use that time to celebrate her birthday as well, since she is OOT guest and i wont actally get to spend time her on her birthday.

I'm going to a wedding on my birthday. The bride and groom both work with me and might know (since I told them when they chose the date), but I hope they don't do anything. I want to just sneak out early and go out with some friends.

I would want absolutely no attention on me. Definitely no singing. It's your day - and you only get one. I'll have a birthday every year, and chances are people will have sung "Happy Birthday" to me the night before, or night after, when I celebrate with family/other friends.

We plan to do absolutely nothing for my grandpas birthday that falls on the date of our wedding. My sisters is the day of our rehearsal dinner and my grandmothers is two days after our wedding. You get/have had many birthdays, you only get one wedding. I will give my grandpa a card and a small gift the morning of the wedding, he doesn't care about birthdays anyway.

My birthday was on our wedding day, and it didn't really get acknowledged. ;-) But I think it's nice if you know about a special occasion to have at least a brief acknowledgement. My parents' 25th wedding anniversary was the day before my first wedding, and we acknowledged it at the rehearsal dinner the night before.
