Birdcage veil

What dress style goes best with the this type of veil, in your opinion? Is anyone wearing a birdcage veil?

It's usually with a vintage tea-length and brides who typically "want something different" or are "off beat brides" but I'm not a fan of them, they just aren't bridal to me.

My dress is pictured on the model with a birdcage veil, and it looks great, but I am so unsure about them. I'm a fan of the princess look with the long veils.

ETA: for the record, my dress is a dropped waist ballgown. With lots and lots of ruffles.

If you asked me 6 months ago, I would have said it wasn't my style and it was a funkier look. However, my hair is short and thin and at my trial, my stylist suggest a birdcage veil since a full veil will weigh down my hair. I am wearing a flower with a tulle bircage veil (not the traditional material) - https://www.etsy.com/listing/153787461/ivory-flower-fascinator-silk-lace-with?ref=favs_view_4

Nothing too poofy. The birdcage veil usually goes with a simple dress. I think something short, straight, tight fitting (like old hollywwod glam), or maybe a-line. The focus is more on you than what you're wearing. They are very pretty. Do you have something in mind?

I agree they have a very vintage, off-beat feel. This bride is wearing my gown, and I think it looks beautiful with the birdcage veil. I'll probably go with a blusher veil, but I think the birdcage helps keep the gown fun, youthful, and not-too-formal. It seems like a good choice for more casual weddings, and could go well with just about any style of dress.

ETA: this dress is a ballgown-- it has very full skirt, but I think this veil still looks great-- it helps to balance the formality of the gown for a more down-to-earth feel.

@Nleo...well I have a blush pink mermaid gown. I just wanted to stay away from traditional veils. I don't have a particular one in mind though. They're all pretty much the same from what I can tell.

I wore a birdcage veil for our wedding. It went with our country theme. I had fun with it.

I am doing a birdcage and my dress is a mermaid style. The beadwork looks like lace without the dress actually being lace. I never wanted a regular veil and have always liked the look of the birdcage. It just fits me better than other styles. When it come down to it try some on at the store and see what u like best

I'm doing one with a tea-length dress. I don't like long, lacy veils.

I am wearing a fit and flair with a bird cage veil. long veils or even short ones just aren't me, I did make my own birdcage veil though and it is less poofy than most and has 2 points vs the one hair clip.

Here is sample of my veil with my dress. I got it from Ebay and added my own crystals to it.
