Big boobs....Long Line Bra-Suggestions

Northern MN, on July 31, 2014 at 4:13 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 17

Anyone that is large chested that bought a Long Line Bra,,,,,where did you get it?

I tried one on at David's bridal last weekend and it was a no go..not enough support.

I am looking for something that is high quality and that would fit a size 42ish D or DD. Awesome if it can corset me in some too (I am a size 16ish)...which is why looking for a long line. It would be nice if it wasn't ugly. Smiley smile

I am searching too. I've found some at adoreme.com and hipsandcurves.com I have something ordered from adoreme for the honeymoon to see how their stuff fits me before I decide to order. And I'm a 40DDD so about the same size.

Lane Bryant has great bras for larger breasted women. Their long line bra doesn't cover enough, but with a waist cincher it could work.

Can you look for a specialty lingerie store in your area? I got my shape wear from a ritzy place and I know they sold specialty bras/shape wear all the way up to like a size K!

@ Mrs_M To Be I might end up doing a trip to the cities (5 hours away..but won't be going till Oct and that seems cutting it close to the wedding in Nov and final fittings of the dress)...otherwise the closest town 2 hours away didn't have really any options...which is why I was at david's bridal. I think I will end up shopping online and returning things...

I order mine online from herroom.com, they have lots of different brands and all sorts of sizes. I'm a 34G, so I have never had a strapless bra that works. Freya is my fave brand, and I'm actually wearing a strapless long line from them right now that I think I'm in love with. I'm going dress shopping today we'll see if it "holds up" (couldn't resist Smiley winking )

Nordstrom also has a TON of sizes, and they have free return shipping. Trust me, as someone who lives in the cities, don't waste your time driving down here. You're better off online.

@Lady O....I sorta felt like online was best too. I lived in the cities for 15 years and didn't find a shop that sold any bras that I was super in love with. Thanks for the suggestion of the Freya..good to know about a kind that holds up....that can be hard to tell...might fit great for 2 hours but after that the bra tip over might happen

Have you looked into the "scoop & swoop" method for measuring yourself for a bra? I had always been wearing 36DD and then measured correctly and ended up in 34G. It would be worth trying out before trying to find a strapless bra, it really helps to have the actual right size.

I go to a place called Bra*Tenders in Manhattan. If you were in New York, I would suggest you go there. Are there any small lingerie stores near you. You may be better off going to a small boutique style place that specializes in bras. They are usually knowledgeable about "the girls" and knows what best works for you.

Online can be tricky because different designers make their bras different ways. For instance, my convertible razor back is a 40F, but my regular bras I wear every day is a 38F, but the long line strapless long line I just bought today is a 40F.

    Good luck Smiley smile

I got mine from a specialty store in my area. Check and see where the closest specialist lingerie shop is to you.

My adore me stuff came today and while the lace is really nice, it just doesn't fit well. There goes that idea.

Instead of a long line, I'm wearing slimming short underwear that come right up to my bra and then I bought a good strapless bra. I find it more comfortable and slimming this way and I have a difficult time finding a bra in my size. I'm a 38 E and went to a specialty shop. It wasn't cheap but it's a convertible so I will be able to use it in the future as well.

I'm an E. I bought my long-line at a store in Houston called Top Drawer - they carry all sizes (I'm also plus-sized) and they're really well made.

I'm the same size as you...I also wear a 16...my dress is an 18. I am going to pick my dress up this weekend, but am stopping at Alfred Angelo to look at their longline bras. I'll let you know how it goes.
