Big Boobs in a strapless dress.

QueenDavis, on October 18, 2016 at 9:37 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 24

I have big boobs (44F, I was measured at Lane Bryant ) and I was told I shouldn't wear a strapless dress because I need support to hold them up. My fear is having to keep pulling up my dress all night, and my boobs sagging by the end of the night. Most of the dresses I really like are strapless, I need a good bra that will keep me up and secure all night.

Do you want a strapless dress specifically? Are you against adding straps for a dress you love? My MOH is about the same size as you and she goes to get fitted every 6 months for a bra. But I know I have seen people in strapless dresses who are bustier so maybe a wedding shop cod give you some guidance.

I think it depends on the cut of the dress and your bra. I'm down to a size 42 DDD but I felt strapped down in my dress.

@SnowQueen, I think I want a strapless. Most of the pretty dresses are strapless, I was thinking about adding straps if I really like one but some dresses won't allow it. I'm going to Davids Bridal to get a better idea.

@CleBell I want to be strap down. I'll never forget this episode on Bridezilla where the sister of the bride had on this strapless bridesmaid dress, and when she first put it on it was cute, but by the end of the night her boobs was sagging so bad in that dress.

I'm a 38DD sometimes Ddd in some brands, but I had a bridesmaid dress that I used spaghetti straps for. Honestly, since it was altered I probably would have gotten away without the straps. Maybe get a dress that can have straps added?

I'm hoping I find something that will holds me really good. I'm not a very good dancer, but once drinks get in me I tend to forget that, and I don't want to worry about sagging boobs. LOL

Im not as big as you (36DDD here) but I did not want a strapless dress because of the same reason you said, i didnt want to be pulling it up all night. and i know many people say that you wouldnt be in a wedding dress, but i just felt more comfortable with the straps. there were a lot of dresses without straps i tried on that they said they could add to, but if you are really wanting a strapless one then make sure you have the best support in there you can get.

Totally depends on how the dress is constructed. If it's just got a zipper and some light boning or no boning, yeah, it'll sag. But if it has good boning and shaping, and an inner corset or corsetback, you'll be beautifully supported with no sag! Seriously ,the corset glues it to your ribs, there's no way that dress is going anywhere.

I'm a 34ddd and I picked a dress with straps and boning so I would feel supported. All of the bridal shops swear they can handle big boobs though in any dress but ultimately I knew comfort was important to me

This bra!! I got it from kohls online. They didn't have them in my store. The sizing is really strange so you may have to by a few to get the right size and then return the ones that don't fit. For example I'm a 42G at lane Bryant and this bra I'm a 46D. It has boning in the cup so it actually supports unlike some longline I've tried. Without my dress on my boobs look a little pointy but once I'm in my dress they look normal.

I wear a 36K in UK sizing (36P in US), and I have a strapless dress. Just get a longline bra in your size and it should be structured enough to give the proper support.

I also recommend doing a proper fitting. If they did the whole "measure around the ribcage and around the fullest part of the bust and add 6" method, your size is likely extremely inaccurate. I highly recommend measuring yourself following this guide:

Clear straps could be another option. If you want the illusion of a strapless dress.

@Joanne: Have you ever seen clear straps on a dress? You can ALWAYS tell they are there, and they WILL stretch and look awful supporting the weight of boobs that size.

I'm a D cup and my dress os strapless but it's so structured that I think it holds them in fine. Maybe finding just the right dress will work for you? I dont know about you, but strapless bras, etc tend to be useless and I hate feeling like they keep falling down. It would annoy the heck out of me! Maybe I have yet to find a good one :-) I would say try dresses on and see what you find!

I'm a DD and I simply didn't choose a strapless dress because I don't want to be hiking it up all night. It totally depends on the dress but definitely get fitted properly

I am a triple ddd and I am doing strapless without a bra! Shock, horror, I know! My dress has a ton of boning so it holds me up. The longline bras make me look like I have too much cleavage and I a spilling out. All in all, it depends on the boning of the dress. My prom dress (20 years ago) was a corset and held me up fine, I was also a ddd back then.

I think at @BeachyLauren has the best idea. I'm not nearly as blessed as you but, I also had a corset and just had cups sewn into it. It worked great. As long as you get laced up tight enough, you won't have to keep adjusting the ladies or the dress.
