Best way to pick order of bridesmaids without offending anyone?

How did/will you pick the order bridesmaids walk out at the ceremony? Did you do it by shortest to tallest? Not wanting anyone to feel slighted for standing at the end of the line.

I just said ok, someone come stand in line at the rehearsal, and my really outgoing friend came over first, so she was first, then whoever wanted to be next, etc and kept the order the same for the wedding.

I am doing how long we've known them. sort of. We have my brother and sil, and my fsil and her husband, so we are pairing them even though i have known my sil slightly longer than my fsil (though not much).

I have a sister in law and my sister, I want them both as my MOH. But I want my SIL to stand directly next to me and I feel like that's going to make my sisters blood boil. After that, probably by height. And I might have my cousin stand at the end because she will be in a suit and I want a flow to the line.
