Best Way to gather addresses, email addresses for family!

Destinikay, on January 27, 2020 at 5:18 PM Posted in Planning 1 20

Hi!!!

What is the best way to gather guests addresses, email addresses, etc? Should I use this website? Its not giving me the option to "Request" Info if I have already entered phone numbers. And I can't figure out how to send a link without another guests name in it?

Should I just text everyone individually? Should I just wait for my website to be finished and send everyone the link there?

HELP!!!!

I have been reaching out to everyone through FB and texting to get all their info. That way you aren't just waiting around. But i just input everything and that wasn't too bad. Smiley smile

I think it’s faster to just text everyone than rig something up on the computer that may or may not work. I texted everyone and it was pretty easy. Plus only about 5 of my guests even went to my website at all.

It takes like 10 minutes to copy and paste a text to everyone. I would stick with that.

We had a large Microsoft Excel sheet that we kept track of all our guest information on. We had a lot of addresses already since we sent out Christmas cards in the past, but we kept track like that. For all we needed, we texted individually. We didn't get emails or need them for anything.

I used a website called postable. You set up a website and send a link to people. They fill out their own info and then you have an online address book. You can edit what information you want to collect.

A personal email, a text, a real phone call. These are friends and family. I for one won't register name, address, phone contact , email, and names of all family on any registration group list. Data lists , once on an unsecured list online can end up everywhere.

I've used Facebook messenger, text, and our parents(for relatives and family friends) to gather addresses!

I would just call/text each person individually. We did that with those we didn't have addresses for and received all the addresses in a reasonable amount of time. I don't have the patience or time to mess around with an app or website. Good luck!

Use postable.com - it’s FREE and honestly a life changer. All you have to do is set it up and send the link to your guests. It’ll take 30 seconds for them to put their info and boom you have everyone’s address in one place. My guests were also pretty impressed by this and said it was such a cool tool to use. HIGHLY Recommend.

We texted everyone, and asked FMIL to reach out to some family members. I organized everything in an excel sheet, since we also are printing ourselves, and used it to mail merge.

This was a task I gave my future mother in law to do which I recommend. She loved the opportunity the help and was able to reach out to all the people on my fiancé’s side. I’ll be asking my mom for help on some of my family as well. I made a google spreadsheet, walked her through how to add and edit cells and let her do her thing.

I asked my fiance to ask his mother for help with his side of the list. Then I just sent everyone on my side a text for their info. We have everything saved in a shared Google doc.

Are you able to transfer all addresses to an Excel sheet or are they only stored in the app?

Yes! You can export all your contacts to excel when you are ready.
