Best "secrets" Resort?

Leah, on March 16, 2018 at 11:25 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 7

We are trying to plan our honeymoon & I believe we have narrowed our search down to the Secrets Resorts. Most seem to be more in our price range than the Sandals resorts & I've heard from many people that the resorts are pretty comparable overall. Now we are trying to decide WHICH Secrets resort to book with. Can some of you who have stayed at a Secrets resort make any recommendations or share your experience? We are definitely going to be booking one of the resorts in Mexico as well(again, within our budget for flights). TIA!!!

I wouldnt pick any of those over priced chain resorts. I'd start with a location then research adult resorts in that location. You will get a lot more bang for your buck without that "name brand".

I agree with OG Kathryn. We are going to an H10 resort in Mexico for a fraction of the cost of Sandals/Secrets. If you're looking for the all-inclusive resort package they are all basically the same with a few minor differences (number of pools, rooms, daily activities). But over all every all-inclusive resort I have been to have been pretty much the same.

We're staying at Secrets Aura Cozumel for four nights in a junior suite with a swim up pool. Now we're just waiting until airfare becomes available which will be in a couple weeks. I think we got a good deal. $2500 all inclusive, not including airfare.

I went to secrets maroma in cancun this past year and it was good, but not great. Food was the biggest thing lacking!

We went to Secrets Playa Mujeres last year. Loved it! We took an excursion to the Isla Mujeres which was really fun. I would definitely go back.

We did secrets playa mujres (Cancun)- it was amazing!! That particular resort is on a compound with a couple other hotels including secrets dreams resort which is family friendly with additional pools and restaurants you can walk too- and my husbands favorite part some water slides. The food and service was truly amazing! We were there 5 days and never left the property. We played golf and got massages (which are extra- bring your own golf balls to purchase them are expensive there) both were incredible, we went to the gym, and fun events every night. I can’t say enough wonderful things about our time! Oh they even had a Mexican market one night set up with souvenirs much cheaper from the resort gift shops.

    Best "secrets" Resort? 1

We went on our honeymoon this past Oct to Maroma. I chose this resort because it is the highest rated and the beach is known to be the best (it seriously is soooo clean). The food is really good even the little lunch grill by the pool is amazing. There food is much better in quality and options then most of the resorts in the area. The buffet is even good and huge with all different fresh juices of fruits I have never heard of, a crepe and omelet station and all types of fancy cheese. The main pool isn't huge like some other resorts but we never had a problem getting a spot as soon as we got there someone was getting us towels, asking what we wanted to drink and opening our umbrella. Some resorts have very few umbrellas, every other spot has an umbrella at the main pool which is great so you don't roast in the sun. They also have an app you download when you get there. You have free wifi not only in your room but anywhere on the resort including the beach. You can use the app to call anywhere in the world for free. They have not only sports activities but things such as bracelet making, we carved pumpkins for halloween, they had a haunted house, shows, scary movies outside, live music, casino night. This isn't a crazy resort. There is people of all ages so you wont get a crazy spring break atmosphere. There is a putt putt coarse, and I never had a single person treat me poorly. People go out of their way to say hi even the gardeners. This is a really nice resort. It never felt tacky or overdone for being a big chain resort. Only do club room if you like to drink and appreciate a good quality drink. I could personally tell the difference and my husband prefers bourbon on the rocks. I would say there is no way you wouldn't love this resort unless you are looking for some crazy party place.
