Best places to buy lingerie?

Madelaine, on March 3, 2017 at 8:09 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 30

What's the best place to buy lingerie for a child-sized bride? I'm looking for more of a satin nightgown and robe combination, instead of just underwear. I'm five feet tall, so it either needs to come in petite sizing or have adjustable straps. Budget=$100. Thanks!

A specialty lingerie store? Where do you normally shop for bras and underwear? Google your nearest non-Victoria's Secret.

Kind of unrelated, but can we refrain from using the term "child-sized bride"? Seems creepier than necessary. Or, maybe it's just me.

Yeah: forego the child size thing

My mom informed me today she can't find anything anywhere. VS stopped selling it, and department stores don't have very good selections. And I know my mom isnt much of an online shopper. So I'm following!

Victoria Secret! But only at the outlet... If you have an outlet near by you check it out, you'll be surprised and the amazing deals and how much you can buy for the price of 1 at a regular store

What I meant by "child-sized" is that I have to wear children's clothing. Adult clothing doesn't fit. I wish it were otherwise. I'm uncomfortable enough having to shop in the children's section, being mistaken for a child at gas stations etc, and being treated like a child in public, so please don't tell me to pretend things were different. It takes a professional makeup artist to make me look over age 18.

Even then OP, I think child sized sounds a little weird...petite would have worked fine.

VS during a sale or at an outlet, I'm 5'1 and I've never had any problems there but I only even look at their lingerie when it's on sale. AdoreMe is amazing, I shop there far more often. And they do free unlimited exchanges, so if the first one doesn't quite fit like you want it to you can easily send it back for a different size.

The only thing with AdoreMe is to remember to skip the month when you don't want to use it. I put a reminder in my phone though and have been an AdoreMe member for years with no problems, if you forget to skip they have always refunded it for me. Their stuff is cute and much cheaper than VS, for $100 you could get 2 sets easily!

Have you ever been to Soma Intimates? Maybe worth a try? I'm 5'1", and the Victoria Secret short nightys fit me fine.

Okay but children brides are actually a very sad and huge issue. Call yourself petite. That sounds so much better.

Any department store should have petite sizing for what you are looking for.

"Child-sized bride" sounds a little creepy. Say petite instead....it sounds a lot less creepy.

Well now that I've been sufficiently creeped out.

I would suggest looking at yandy.com

Child brides are brides who are under aged and forced to marry older men http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/2011/06/child-brides/gorney-text it's an illegal practice and your wording made a lot of people feel icky even if you didn't mean it. I'm 5'2" and small chested, so I get all my lingerie at the little bra company https://www.thelittlebracompany.com/
