Best place to get invites printed?

Laura, on January 9, 2011 at 2:56 PM Posted in Planning 0 19

I have been searching online today for invites and I knew they were expensive, but ouch! So now I am thinking about getting some at Michaels and printing them up from there. For those of you who did this, did you take them to get printed somewhere or did you do it on your home printer? Which is easiest, but cost friendly? Thanks!

I used vista print for my save the dates and they were amazing and super cheap. just check the website every few days they have some amazing deals where you can get tonnes of free stuff.

They don't take long to ship either.

Good luck and let me know what you think.

Laura what is your budget? I looked at different avenues when looking for invites. I remember the part I was shocked at was if you buy the invites to factor in the cost of ink too and it becomes more expensive. I spent about $250 on 100 custom designed invites. This included design cost, invite, RSVP postard, outer envel. and a upgraded inner envel. I loved them and after looking at 123print, vista print and other invitation sites. It was the best choice from me. (FYI the person who designed it was a vendor from WW that lived halfway across the country from me!)

I'm no good at DIY so I orded mine. I know a few ladies on here have gone with these two sites as well:

I used vistaprint for my save the dates and loved them. I was just messing around on their site and I was having a hard time customizing the wording the way I wanted. I do not want to spend a lot of money on them. I have not sat down and said "I am only going to spend XXX amount" because I am still trying to figure out what a reasonable prie for invites are. I will need about 110 of them.

The other thing to note about vista print was I had a hard time finding inner envelopes. If that is something that is important to you you may want to think about it. I think anywhere from $1.50-$3.00 per invite is good. (that includes RSVP cards and all envelopes) Also one mistake I made everytime I went to price stuff out was that I only needed about half of how many people I invited. :-)

We did our save the dates through www.magnetstreet.com and we loved them. They were not too expensive too. The whole price included envelopes, magnets, seals, and return addresses. Someone suggested http://www.invitationsbydawn.com/ and I think we are going to use them after looking at many different places. They had exactly what we wanted theme wise. Good luck!

I was having the same problem, the invitations were to much money. so bought mine from walmart and had them printed up at fedex and it was cheap they only charge 8 cents a page dosent matter how much wording you put either. And I add rhinestones and they look like I paid alot and I didn't.lol

We used these folks and got a great deal. Even when there was a mistake on the final product (which was my fault) - they reprinted them at a fraction of the price. They were great to work with and had a three week turnaround time.

If you are on a budget try 123Print. I ordered 75 invites (5x7 size )and 75 RSVP with printed return envelopes for $76.00. I saved 116.00 from two other places I looked at. The invite cards from vistaprint were much too large - 6x9.

Remember to check out alternative invitation styles. We tend to get caught up in the typical wedding invitation ensemble: invitation card, reception card and response card. Unfortunately, ordering all three of those things can really add up.

    I recommend

Seal and Send Invitations and 3 for 1 Invitations. Their efficient design makes them more affordable. You'll find lots of stylish options at Invitations by Dawn and guests will never know they're less expensive.
