Best online photo printing companies?

Brigit, on November 23, 2015 at 8:37 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

I am looking to get some of my photos printed as christmas gifts for parents and in laws. Any suggestions for where to get professional quality prints? Shutterfly is okay, but I wanted something a step above. My photographer is doing a black Friday sale but her prices are expensive to begin with, I am not sure if I should use her printing company or find another for a little bit less.

Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks

Your photographer's portraits (I would hope) would be the best as far as quality goes. When you hold a standard print from Shutterfly or one of the other consumer labs against one from labs like WHCC or Millers you can definitely see a difference. If you are looking for prints that are better than Shutterfly prints, try AdoramaPix. I still recommend going with your pro, but AdoramaPix does a nice job with prints.

My photographer recommended mpix.com to us. We ordered prints from mpix for last Christmas and they are beautiful. I can't tell the difference in print quality from them and the ones we ordered directly from her. They are 100x better than the book I ordered from Shutterfly.

Awesome Jacquie! I will look into both suggestions. My photographer is doing 50% off for black Friday so a regular 8x10 print with frame is only $106 reg price so I can get the two for our parents for the price of one which isn't bad at all. I guess now I am looking for me lol thinking about albums and such. I have been looking at national photo labs, artisan state, and prodpi ( they allow a mature photographers to join), there are just too many options and I can't justify spending money to figure out which I like best.

I have heard that people like national photo labs for their albums. Be careful with artisan state.
