Best foundations?

Kayla, on September 20, 2019 at 2:41 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 1 10
What are the best foundations for pictures? I have a good foundation now that looks great in real life but I find that it makes me look like a ghost in pictures👻 I don’t want this for engagement or wedding pics, any suggestions?

I'm in the same boat with you I love my mineral based powder by bare minerals. It doesn't make my face feel sticky or like I have anything on. But every where I go they day DO NOT use powder foundation because it looks bad in professional photos. So I'm in a rut on foundations

Depends on your skin type! Go to Sephora or Ulta and consult a makeup artist for a matching color and type of foundation (Heavy coverage, Medium, light etc) avoid too much powder at all costs. I'm a photographer myself and I find clients that use a lighter foundation rather than a full coverage makes them look less cakey and more natural in pictures (:

Too Faced Born This Way foundation set with Laura Mercier Translucent loose setting powder, and finished with Urban Decay setting spray!! I swear by this combo, my make up stays, looks great in pictures, and has no flashback. Also another tip to not look too cakey is shaving your whole face(aside from eyebrows) before applying foundation. It looks so smooth. Sounds weird, but it works soooo well. And make sure your face is extra moisturized to keep it looking smooth as well.
this was after sitting in the Texas humidity (post storm) and sweating a lot for 45 minutes. đź’€

As a makeup artist Double Wear by Estee lauder and Era beauty's Airbrush spray on foundation is my go to for brides and bridal parties. Great coverage and no flashback from cameras.

I use Double Wear by Estee Lauder on a day-to-day basis and love it! No flashback issues in photos from my sister's high-end camera. (Though I'm not sure exactly what I'll be wearing for engagement/wedding pics, since I've hired a MUA.)

I will reiterate what everyone is saying above! Double wear is amazing and what I'll be using for my wedding. Great coverage that isn't cakey, and good especially if you have oily skin.

The cool thing too is I got a few free samples of different colors from Ulta when I asked, and they are generous samples at that! Worth trying out. Smiley smile

I love born this way foundation, as well as the urban decay setting spray. My makeup didn't mice all day/night.
