Best Father Daughter Dance Songs and more suggestions!

Roseanna, on February 23, 2018 at 6:53 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 16

Hey guys, what are some really amazing Father daughter dance songs? I'm kinda new to this whole wedding stuff (I'm kinda a tom boy at heart) and would LOVE your suggestions! Also, if you know of any really great songs to play at any point during the day, I'd love to hear any ideas! Thank you sooooo much(: Smiley ring Smiley cake Smiley diamond

I think we're using Wildflowers by Tom Petty. I'm not a particularly sappy person, so most 'father-daughter' songs kind of make me want to gag.

We're probably going to do "Cinderella" by Steven Curtis Chapman. Might be a bit of a tear jerker though, so if you're trying to avoid that, I wouldn't recommend it.

I think we're doing Always in All Ways by Kenny Loggins. It's kind of sappy, but I gave my Dad a list of a few songs I liked when FH and I first got engaged, and he loved that one. My first dance song with FH is going to be The Luckiest by Ben Folds b/c that's kind of been our song throughout our relationship. I always thought I would dance to a Frank Sinatra song as my first dance though, so we will definitely be playing one or two of his songs during the night!

I think I'm gonna use Who Are You? by The Who because we always danced to the CSI theme song when I was little and it'll be way more fun than some sappy slow song. I'm not super mushy and sentimental and I don't think I could handle him crying

My Dad is old school & we are dancing to Nancy Sinatra’s “It’s for my Dad”.. it’s kinda slow, but really gets the message across of the relationship between father & daughter. I really have grown to love it! My mother in law suggested it to me. My Dad loves that it is sung by a classic singer too 👍🏼

My dad and I aren't sappy mushy people so I didn't think a song like that would feel right for us. My dad is a band and I can't tell you how many saturday mornings as a kid I woke up to my dad playing the guitar or bass to Led Zeppelin or the Grateful Dead or some band like that in the living room. So I've chosen "Thank You" by Led Zeppelin.

My favorite father/daughter song that I never see mentioned is "Gracie" by Ben Folds--he's watching his baby daughter grow up, but it's not creepy like a lot of other father/daughter songs.

Also, if you want to laugh about father/daughter song creepiness, I HIGHLY recommend listening to "I Love My Daughter (But Not in a Creepy Way)" from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. The video for it is hilarious as well.

My dad and I danced to this song at my Quinceanera (sweet 15 party) so my plan is for us to dance to it again for my wedding. He balled his eyes out during it when I was 15. I can only imagine now that I'm getting married 😭

My FH loves that song! Like to the point where if we have a daughter he wants to name her Gracie and then dance to that song at her wedding Smiley laugh (getting a little ahead of ourselves here lol)
