Best Fabric for Aisle Runner On Cement?!

Crystal, on January 29, 2019 at 9:41 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 6
Omg why is this turning into something so complicated for me?!
Our ceremony will be outside in a courtyard on cement in April- Southern CA. I want a runner and I’m not a fan of the super sheer ones - they just look sort of cheap looking to me 🤭
I have a large bridal party so I want something that won’t move too much or cause the girls to trip.
Help! I’d love your suggestions on fabric, color ie.white or ivory, and/or specifics on where you got yours from. Thanks!!

Personally I’m not a fan of runners because I also find them cheap. I say look at different pages to see if you can find a sturdy one. As an alternative you can do rose petal aisle. Not necessary in a form or shape but use a line on both sides of the aisle with a bulky quantity that crates that alusion.

I was talking about something like this without the runner.

    Yes, I got you ☺️
Our florist, who’s been very reasonable, quoted us $250 for 24 feet aisle (both sides).

I have yet to see a runner that didn't bunch, move, cause people to trip. Personally, I would look for ways to enhance the walkway (flowers, greenery, etc) than to cover it. If you really want a runner, I would check out Etsy.

Is the seating in grass? Maybe get one wide enough to reach the grass and stake it down every 3 ft or so and cover the stakes with flower petals? Ours will be on a marble floor so we are using a rug tape to tack it down. It keeps the rug in my living room in place on my hardwood floors despite mine psycho dogs so I figured it'll hold up for the 30 minutes we will need it.

Depending on how long your aisle is and your overall style, you can always get a runner that's a rug. Rugs USA has sales all the time, and I've seen some that I think would work well. It would stick and I don't think anyone would trip on them. It's more of a boho vibe, and I don't know if that's your thing or not, but it's worth looking at for some inspo - Rug Aisle Decor
