Best Dress for Busty Ladies

Olivia, on March 3, 2017 at 2:18 PM Posted in Planning 0 12

What is your favorite style of bridesmaid dress for ladies who have generous cleavage?

I don't want that to be the sole focus of their dress but I also don't want to restrain them in something that won't flatter their figures.

Thank you!

I've always been partial to v-neck dresses with a higher waist. I feel like this is a style that's usually flattering to everyone, and the V can always be closed a bit if the lady so chooses.

Do any of the ladies in your party habitually wear a certain style or neckline that they love and could work in a dress?

I just picked a color and fabric and let the girls pick something they are comfortable wearing. Even with larger breasts body shapes vary so I let them pick one that is most flattering.

I agree with brieliz, give them the color and fabric and let the pick a style that suits their body type.

These are just suggestions and my opinions from what I have seen. For the bodice, a scoop, sweetheart or v-neckline would be great options. I would say less detail on the top and more on the skirt if you don't want to draw too much attention to your bust. If you go strapless, a sweetheart will probably be the best neckline.

A v-neck or sweetheart neckline is very complimentary. Something with straps to keep things up and in place helps too. ETA for spelling.

Definitely nothing strapless! But if you really want to ensure their comfort, just give your girls a color and have them choose a dress on their own in the color of your choice.

Ok, I am a rather busty lady and I have a strapless sweetheart dress and it is very comfortable and just doesn't move out of place...I have even tried jumping in it...yes, i know.... but if you are uncomfortable with strapless, you can always have straps put on. I am going to have removable straps put on mine, just in case i run into problems. Its all about the fittings....

It depends on their individual bodies. Please let them pick the style Smiley smile

Definitely not strapless. I agree with the others, let them pick a style. My girls went to DB (separately - everyone is scattered between 2 states) and I gave them the color, length, and material but let them pick the style. My cousin has told a handful of times how happy she was that she could pick her own dress and that she was comfortable the entire night.

What @Kate said! I got put in a strapless dress as a bridesmaid and spent the entire night pulling it up. All the other bridesmaids were much younger cousins of the bride (high school and jr. High) and the dress was flattering on them, but I was miserable.
