Best champagne for mimosa

Catalina, on December 17, 2014 at 6:41 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

I want to make mimosa for the bridesmaids as they get ready. Any champagne suggestions? I will also serve fruit, croissants and muffins.

Any cheap champagne will do, honestly. I'd recommend Korbel. Although, I'll admit, my friends and I prefer volume over quality when it comes to champagne.

Barefoot brut (gold i believe) or korbel brut, (gold and silver labels)

you dont want anything too expensive as you're just diluting it with OJ, and you dont want something sweet as the oj already is. just basics work best. i usually ditch the oj after the first one

I agree, whatever is cheapest. I've never come across a mimosa that I didn't like.

I agree that a Brut (dry) or semi-brut champagne is best for mimosas, since the OJ is already sweet. I have a girlfriend who hates the taste of alcohol, though, so she LOVES sweet mimosas. If you have anyone in your party like this, then I recommend using Mionetto. The Prosecco brut is slightly less dry than a champagne, and the Mionetto Moscato is super sweet and pairs really well with the acidity in the OJ.

We had a moms bar for my bridal shower and just used the korbel brand. nothing expensive, but they tasted great!

I drink Frexinet by itself, but for mimosas I'd use Verdi sparkling wine. It' about 7.00 a bottle.

My personal favorite is De Chanceny Rose Brut, Cremant De Loire. I also use it to main St. Bubbles and other drinks that call for champagne.
