Best All-inclusive Resorts?

Keeya, on May 11, 2019 at 10:40 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 25
Hi all! My FH and I are having to reschedule our honeymoon due to a job change. Since we have more time, we're wanting to save up for a big honeymoon next June! What are the best places to go and the best all-inclusive resorts? What type of room did you stay in? I've been looking at the Moon Palace in Cancun and the Sandals Resorts anywhere in the Caribbean. Does anyone have firsthand experiences here? We definitely want a place that isn't far from the airport and we're just looking for a place with good food and plenty of relaxation.

Thank you!

I’m getting married at the Finest Playa Mujeres and staying at their Excellence rooms which is adults only... I have never been but they have amazing reviews and it looks so beautiful!!! I wanted to get married at Hyatt Zilara but also adults only so I looked into Hyatt Ziva and both of them look amazing!!!!! One day I’ll make it to either or lol..

We are going to Jamaica, couples swept away. It looks amazing! A little bit further away from the airport but they have a free included transfer. As an all inclusive resort it has a few less food options than I would want but I know people who went there and said it was all amazing. It offers more free excursions than most resorts which I liked. And if being by the airport is important they have 4 different couples resorts on Jamaica and some are close. One even has unlimited spa. I went with the one with the most food and bar options lol. Going in early October. So excited. Another thing I like about it. No tipping. Some of the other resorts you have to tip people left or right but this resort forbids tipping. I don’t mind tipping but I’m going to be going to swim up bars and being out by the ocean. I just didn’t want to have to worry about carrying cash everywhere. That’s just me. Hope this helps!!

I was in a wedding at Sandals Royal Bahamian last October. The food was good and we enjoyed the private island and the beaches. I haven’t been to Moon Palace, but I (along with my travel agent) have heard good things about their resort in Mexico. I don’t recommend the new Moon Palace in Jamaica as we realized there’s very little beach at this resort when we were researching locations for our DW.

I would check the weather for whatever countries you’re considering and purchase trip insurance as June is technically the beginning of hurricane season.

I did not realize the Jamaica beach was small- thank you for letting me know! And thank you for reminding me about trip insurance- I didn't even think about it being hurricane season!

We went to Sandals La Toc Saint Lucia. LOVE Sandals. Amazing customer service, top shelf alcohol (stoli, Johnnie walker red blue and black, etc etc), good wines, and realllly good food. I'm a huge foodie and wine drinker and was impressed. We went back and forth on upgrading to a butler suite and didn't, and we were happy we didn't spend the money on a butler, but unhappy our room was teeeeeeny. But, I've heard that's only true of La Toc. Also, la toc is BEAUTIFUL, but its allllllll hills, so some people were glad they had a butler to drive them around in a golf cart. Lastly, not sure if you golf or SCUBA dive, but golf is included in Sandals, and if you're SCUBA certified it's INCLUDED as well. I'm a certified advanced scuba diver and I have to tell you, that's a total steal.

It's been a while (2010), but I stayed at Palace Resorts Riviera Maya (I forget the name and it was sold off) as well as Palace Resorts Sun palace - I found their food to be mediocre, alcohol watered down, rooms older, and service meh. I can't speak for Moon Palace, though.

Our next trip is to Mexico (Cancun or Riviera Maya) and we're currently consider Secrets due to raving reviews from friends, Excellence, and Grand Velas Riviera Maya. The latter is supposed to be AMAZZZZZZZING and luxurious beyond belief - only our fancy pants rich friends have gone there and it's kind of been on our bucket list (possible for H's 40th bday).

So my two cents, for Mexico I would consider Secrets, Excellence or Grand Velas Riviera Maya... for everywhere else I would definitely consider Sandals. Not sure if that helps or makes things worse! Smiley heart

We just booked ours today. Couples Negril in Jamaica. Adults only, all inclusive right on the beach. Our travel agent got us a phenomenal price we just couldn't pass up. Seven mile beach looks amazing and I've heard that Negril has great snorkeling. I checked out the places to visit in Negril on Travelocity and we were SOLD!

Sandals - Mo Bay, Jamaica. Book any one of their butler suites. This is a fun place. The staff is super nice. We loved it. We made a change in our atmosphere by going to Sandals. We are the seclusive resort type but this time we wanted to be around a lot of activities. Sandals Mo Bay is awesome for that. Their all inclusive gets you everything including a well stocked bar in your room (again butler suites). There are tons to do both on and off of the resort. There are lots of Sandals to choose from in the Caribbean. I'd look for one of the newer built ones. We were the first to stay in our butler suite as we were in the new build part of the resort. It's super modern, clean, and we were right on the water.

    Breathless in Punta Cana!

This is where we are going Smiley smile super affordable and all inclusive!

We looked into Sandals but it was like double the cost of what we are actually paying.
