Beginning our wedding registry

Meghan, on August 4, 2020 at 3:37 PM Posted in Registry 1 9
Going to start our wedding registry and old where to begin!

What places did you open a registry with? Are we limited to an amount or should pay attention to any perks?
What items did you put on your list or wish you had put?
Thanks!

We registered at Amazon and Bed Bath and Beyond. Amazon was amazing because they literally have everything and it’s convenient for most guests especially if they have prime. We’ve been living together for a year now so we didn’t have necessities more of upgrading items we do have, new silverware, dish ware, an air fryer. I have a nice vacuum already but decided to put a deep cleaning vacuum that washes the carpet and it’s amazing! Just brainstorm things, we added over a period of time.

I did Zola and Amazon. I had no idea about instant pots and so I wish I registered for that instead of slow cooker

We did Walmart, Amazon, and honeymoon wishes.
I asked my friends what they got in their registry that they use the most and made sure to add those items to the list.
We’ve been living together for a year and I’ve been living on my own 7 years prior to that. So we have a lot of the basics.

We registered at Crate & Barrel, IKEA, and Macy's. We went room by room and figured out things we wanted/needed for each room. I would select items with a variety of prices that way your guests have options.

I think a lot of what you put on your registry (or even having one in general) depends on current living situation. My fiancé and I bought a house over 7 years ago, so most of our items are replacements and upgrades— matching silverware, new pots and pans, new mixing bowls, upgraded sheets and towels, etc. It also has some random items— Dustbuster sweeper, folding table and chairs. I only put things that I know we’d actually use and wouldn’t take up space. I chose to register at Bed, Bath, and Beyond because they have a large variety and Macy’s because they have great sales. My brother and sister-in-law didn’t have a registry when they got married, as they lived in an apartment in NYC and were lacking in storage for what they already had!

In terms of perks, some stores do give you a discount for items registered that weren’t purchased! That might be something to look into, too, when deciding where to sign up!
