Beef or Pork?

on June 22, 2018 at 9:23 AM Posted in Planning 0 23
Hello all! So I’ve been looking into a ton of places to see what my FH and I can afford. For food options would it be acceptable to have a chicken dish, a pork one, and then a vegetarian option? It’s cheaper compared to throwing in a beef option for a majority of places! Thank you!

As long as you don't have a large percentage of guests coming that do not eat pork (religious reasons) then I think that is fine

I depends wholly upon your guest list. Would there be any religious reason that a large amount of your guests wouldn’t eat pork? I prefer a good pork chop or loin over beef any day but I think beef will generally be a more popular choice.

I think beef is a more popular choice. I don't really eat pork and my FH is muslim.

A lot of people don’t eat pork. You are almost better off just having chicken and veggie meals.

Everyone will be either Catholic or Buddhist. One guest is Muslim, but we would have a chicken or vegetarian option to accommodate him! I know beef would be more popular, but I’m just trying to think of ways to save.

Nothing wrong with doing pork since you have options for those who don't eat it. Lots of folks here on WW are doing BBQ and I would assume that's mostly pork.

Generally speaking, the food/ beverage part of your budget shouldn't be pinched.

I would try to save else where-- decor, invitations, your dress, flowers, have a small BP, eliminate favors, don't do STDs. Those are the things that don't really affect the guest's experience.

We are having a chicken, fish, beef option...do something simple, no vegetarian option...so that would be nice but I didnt see it as a choice so that's why I'm opting for the fish

We have a guest who can’t have any meat at all due to religious reasons! I was thinking about a fish option too. Tricky tricky.

I would think that would be fine. You can put the options of your RSVP ticket so you know how many of each youll need! Smiley smile

Yes. It's fine. If they don't eat or want pork then they have 2 other options. As long as you tried the pork and it's good. I'm debating between pork and beef also but not because of price but because I love eating both. The taste is going to make up my mind.

I love a good pork chop or tenderloin too! My FH and I love both beef and pork, so we’re considering pork due to that and the cost is an added bonus

So go with pork! People are always going to like something more, but you can't please everyone so you might as well please you and your wallet lol

I think a pork and chicken choice is great! My hubby dislikes chicken so we would be good to go, lol! I think those three choices are ample.

I prefer beef over pork. But, if they know how to properly cook pork, I would be fine with the options.

I think that's totally fine! You could do a fish option too if you wanted? As long as people have options, which they will here, then I think offering pork is fine.

That’s what we are doing. Well we chose chicken, fish & vegan. A lot of people are cutting back on red meat ..not many of my family members even eat pork.
