Bring in some sand and cover the floor of the venue! Have all the guests in swim suits!

I can't say I've ever seen a beach themed wedding, except once on that 4 weddings show. What if you made your colors more beach themed, like a sand color, a nice blue or blue/green ocean. Stationary and whatever little signs you use at the wedding could be beach themed.
Are you wanting an indoor wedding but beach themed? Where will the wedding be?

There are so many ways to incorporate the beach into your wedding! Centerpieces could use fishing nets/sand/seashells/starfish/driftwood/etc. Your hair piece could have seashells or pearls, or you could do pearl jewelry. Your card box could be a treasure chest shape. You could offer beach towels as your favors. Beachy colors like light blue or coral or beige could be your wedding colors. Here are some inspiration photos I found on Pinterest:

Below are some pictures from our beach wedding. I wanted the idea of 'beach theme', but did NOT want it to be "in your face" beach LOL So, first off we have the wedding invitations - pocket style because for most

people it was a destination wedding. Then our cake ---- we had a huge dessert bar, so just this small cake for cutting. Our sweetheart table had this low arrangement with a few shells scattered in. Our table centerpieces were SNATCHED UP by our guests (birthday closest to our wedding date) The sign was from Dollar Tree, as well as the small shells scattered. The mirror, tea light and adirondack chair were from Amazon. I found a shop on Etsy that made the vinyl stickers (all see creatures) and I put them in 5x7 frames. All tallied, I think it cost under $10 a table and again, people were begging others for their "prize".

There are SOOOOO many great ideas out there - just google it and you will be at your computer for hours. <G>

Thanks!! The wedding ceremony is outside, and reception indoors. But it’s at Maumee Bay in Oregon, Ohio which is on Lake Erie. While we won’t be getting married ON the beach, there’s a beach right in the background of everything. I’ll be able to get some nice beach pics and have it close by

A blue and green mismatched bridal party could be really cute! I would recommend going fairly neutral with florals (mostly white with maybe some blue/lavender accents, some greenery is a must), brown wicker elements could work (maybe little baskets for centerpieces!) I've also seen seating cards where it's either sea glass or seashells with your guests' names (can get both on Etsy)

I love everything you created here! We are planning our beach wedding and want to make it fun but not too cliche. Our ideas for the cake are identical to what you did! Where was your wedding? We are doing ours on Anna Maria Island in Florida in 2025.

That is EXACTLY where we are looking! Is the cake from Hometown Desserts? We went out and met with everyone there last week and everyone was so wonderful. I'd love to see any other photos or decorations that you made/used. I want to create things myself as much possible.

Yes to Hometown Desserts - our guests devoured the mini key lime pies LOL
Oneco Florist was absolutely amazing, and beyond reasonable in price.
As for Beach House..... our guests raved about the food. We loved the service before and during the reception. Get the Day of Coordinator, money well spent. Don't waste your money on renting a dance floor on top of the sand - it started falling apart by mid-evening. Here are some more photos - hope they help. Beach theme decor 8

Thanks for all the photos and extra information, this is a huge help! We met with Cindy from Hometown Desserts last week and she was great, I've not tried her key lime pie yet but the samplers were amazing. I haven't heard of Oneco Florist but I will look them up, Blooms by the Beach is one I kept going back to but flowers are definitely an aspect that we are attempting to cost cut. So far, we've been working with Carley at the Beach House/Sandbar and she's been huge help. I'll definitely take your advice on the day of coordinator! Were you happy with the Siesta Trolley service? We're still debating on whether to use that or just have guests have their own transportation. Thanks for all your help, and congratulations!

We only used Siesta Trolley to take the bridal party (and guests) from our house (in Sarasota) to Beach House. I paid for the trolley to then stay there for pictures - we did a first look, so immediately following we went for trolley photos. They were very nice to work with, and i felt the price reasonable. If you can view my wedding website (go to my profile and there should be a link) click on the first tab - scroll a bit and you'll see my email. Drop me a note and I can tell you tons more! Especially hotel blocks that worked for the guests.

One thing about flowers - all of your guests are going to be staring out at the gorgeous view, or walking around to the beach, so do NOT waste your money on flowers for the tables!! We had sashes for the ceremony chairs, and then the DOC took them off and put them on the reception chairs (and btw, those chairs are super comfy!) Below is our fun trolley photo (we have tons more with the bridal party) and the picture during the reception where you can see the chair sashes.

    Hey Pat,

I love all these photos and really appreciate the advise! We are definitely going to cut back majorly on flowers and have that as a minimal expense, I am more interested in making table decorations like you did. I like the Siesta trolley but that'll be a TBD depending on our budget. How many guests did you have overall?

I tried to find your email address but couldn't locate it.

    Thanks for all your help!

We had a total of 45 guests, including us. Getting a trolley for guests is nice, but most of our guests either drove themselves (free valet parking) or did an Uber/Lyft, so I wouldn't bother using it for guest transportation. Like I said, I did it so the whole wedding party (minus the groom) could ride up together (and me, being type A, could make sure everyone arrived at the time I wanted them to LOL) If you follow the link and go to the bottom of the page, the email should be there. https://www.weddingwire.com/website/index.php?idWebsite=7509001&idPage=75551539

Wish WW would let me privately message you - ugh! But, we'll just continue to take over this thread if necessary.
