Hey ladies! Getting married this October at a beautiful ocean front event home in my home town in North Carolina. The ceremony will take place on the beach and the reception at the house. We can’t afford a wedding coordinator so I’m starting to think of the timeline, how to go about all the decorations and how to set up the back yard surrounding the pool for the reception. I live in Denver so I have to figure all this out from afar (and it’s giving me major anxiety). We’re doing an unconventional reception with several stations of heavy hor d’eurves in lieu of a formal, sit down meal. So while there will still be tables, there will not be enough for everyone to sit at one time. And god forbid, but there’s plenty of indoor and covered outdoor space if it rains.

Im curious if anyone else has done something similar. Any advice on things that have gone well or not gone well with a beach wedding? Small nuances that I may not have considered? And decoration tips/pictures!!! We’re planning on stringing bistro lights from the top deck across the back yard... but that’s as far as I’ve made it. Our theme is lavender and sage and I’d like decorations to include lots of greenery, terrariums, candles, etc.
I’ve included some photos of the house for reference. Looking forward to hearing any and all ideas. TIA!

Those are so cute! I love how unique it is, and exactly! Useful! If I don't find anything at the beach shops, I'll resort to ordering online, but I do love that! Idk if you've ordered your invites or not, but we bought invitations in a bottle which is super neat. I'll attach them below. That's awesome you have connections like that! We're basically setting up a table with our signature drinks in 2gl beverage dispensers, a lot of liquor, chopped fruit, and juices, then making a recipe cocktail menu to frame for our guests to follow, then a beverage tub with beer, wine coolers, and soda. Making the best out of a DIY situation haha.
Thanks for the suggestion! I'll check them out. As a part of our package, we're going through I Do OBX Chairs but I didn't notice light rentals on their page. Ah, I'm so excited to of found an obx bride! I'll be following you if you don't mind!

I almost booked that house for my OBX wedding but we ended up with the grand ritz palm in Duck. It’s all inclusive when it comes to tables and chairs and such which was why I ended up booking.

Decor wise, I’m keeping to bare minimum and doing wine bottles with sand and pictures of me and FH inside, vases for when bridesmaids are finished with their bouquets, and that’s basically it 😂
We’re doing all the set up and break down ourselves the day before too since we’re in VA so I feel your stress!

The Grand Ritz is gorgeous! Honestly you don’t need a lot of decoration when the scenery is already so beautiful! I love the photos of that venue with the pool covered and used as a dance floor.

Hi! I am super curious how this worked out for you. I absolutely love that beach house. I live in Pennsylvania and we want to do basically what you had described.
