Hey there,

I am new to this site and after a few years of being engaged my fiance and I have finally decided to plan a wedding, haha. Trouble is I would love to have a beach ceremony with a (party/small gathering) reception. We don't exactly want the traditional wedding. We have a budget of under $3,000 for ceremony and reception for under 50 people. I have checked several places online but am having a hard time finding anything simple and within my budget. We have looked into cruises (which really seem like a great deal!), sand key, honeymoon island, fred howard park, clearwater beach. I am from Tampa and absolutely love our Florida beaches, I just can't seem to find a casual spot within my budget.

Has anyone had a small beach wedding that they can pass along their experiences? I am open to public beach and small room inside of a restaurant or anything.

Thank you so much everyone and please help me get something planned!

Check out the Sandbar Restaurant and the Beach House Restaurant on Anna Maria Island. You can have your ceremony on 'their' beaches and dinner in their restaurants' deck or covered pavilion. I officiate ceremonies at both venues.

Thanks, I will Google elopement ideas. The beach house is renovating and the cost will be out of my budget. It would have been perfect. I am viewing the sandbar tomorrow but afraid it will also be out of my budget

You can do a beach wedding with just you, your FH & officiant on the beach for just the cost of the officiant. Then go to a restaurant or find a small venue that you can serve cake & punch. You can rent chairs for the beach but it's approximately $12/chair & if you want an arbor that will cost more. I found my officiant/photographer team for our beach wedding on WW. Keep in mind that if you're going to have 50 people on the beach each person needs a chair & this will be where your cost will go up. I've seen weddings on the beach that is just the couple, their parents & the officiant. This might work for you. In the end you will still be married & the most important people will be there with you. Good luck.

A friend of mine is a photographer for Tied the Knot- and their prices are very reasonable. You should check them out, especially because they can be all inclusive and handle so many details for you and provide a planner.

Also, I have attended weddings at the Lions club and thats a great little venue!! Perfect indoor/outdoor space for a large group.

The other option, is check Air BNB or VRBO.com and see about renting a large house on the beach, and host the wedding there. You would have to DIY, or hire out alot- and it will take a bit more planning and organizing on your end. But then you could just rent tents, tables, chairs for the beach, have the caterers stage in the kitchen, you would be able to get ready on site and simply walk back in a sleep there that night. I have seen options where you can rent entire villa's or just small condo's. That might be the easiest way to save some $$.

I found the Lions Club website through Google. Thanks for all the recommendations and I have emailed many possible places.
