So I’m going to post a few dresses I’ve tried in for some opinions , but my major issue is my wedding is next may and I am supposed to be getting the gastric sleeve within the next two months, has anyone had experience with this during wedding planning , my fear is that I’m going to pick a dress...
So I’m going to post a few dresses I’ve tried in for some opinions , but my major issue is my wedding is next may and I am supposed to be getting the gastric sleeve within the next two months, has anyone had experience with this during wedding planning , my fear is that I’m going to pick a dress that flatters me now but if I’m think would I be interested in the same style ? If you’ve had experience I need an idea of how much weight I’d loose

My Fiance lost 170 lbs in 8 months with the sleeve, so I would wait, your body will drastically change.

    Good Luck!

I lost 80lbs in 5 months after my sleeve. Definitely wait. You won't believe the options you'll have after you lose the weight. You're idea of what looks good on you will change because you will feel comfortable in clothes you never dreamed of before. Good luck!!

Thank you. I wish you all the best foe your surgery also. I can understand being nervous, I was also, this is a life long change you are undertaking. But it is worth it! I was so unhealthy before, high blood pressure, very high heart rate, difficulty breathing, diabetes, along with the difficulties of day to day things like puttinf on shoes or anything that required me to bend over. Now I feel like I have my life back. I no longer have diabetes, my blood pressure is normal, my heart rate is below 60 (used to be between 110-160 resting, and even over 200 with exercise), I hardly take my asthma medications now, and can do ordinary things that I struggled with previously. It has been so worth it for me. It wasnt always easy. So be prepared for that. But if you follow your Drs recommendations you will do well. One piece of advice I will give you is that I'm sure you have already been told that you will no longer be able to drink anything carbonated again after the surgery. I have come to know many people who have had the surgery now, 6 of which are very successful, 5 who have not been. The common problem for those who havent been successful is that they all drank soda, beer, or other carbonated drink afterwards and ended up reexpanding their stomachs defeating the purpose of the procedure.

So once again I'm feeling extremely discouraged reading everyone stories of how much weight they lost after their sleeve!!! First: congrats to you all, seriously amazing.
Second: BE PREPARED TO NOT LOSE SO DRAMATICALLY SO QUICKLY.
No-one warned me that *I* just might be one of those "special" cases - even after the surgery. I had my surgery done exactly 6 months ago....I have lost 41 lbs. That. Is. It.
Now, that's nothing to sneer at, of course, however I have lost verrrrrrrrry slowly. The most I ever lost in a week - even on liquids only- was 2lbs! Now everyone is telling me "oh but that is great, you won't have as much loose skin since you're losing slowly!" and "but you were so active already and didnt have other health issues so you are different" And maybe that is true, but it can be very disheartening and frustrating - to go through all you do and then to not see the stereotypical results is hard.

SO hope for the amazing drastic results, be prepared for slower loss, and definitely do not order a dress now!

I got one just before my surgery because it was such a great deal, and even with my very slow loss, it's now more than 2 sizes too big on top and I ended up just buying a new dress (which I love way more anyway!Smiley laugh )

You will literally not have any idea what your size will be or the shape And you'll lose from all over!
That being said you clearly have fabulous taste and will be beautiful no matter what you end up with AND I agree with so many pp's...dress #1 is so amazing lol

That first dress looks amazing on you... but you definitely should wait until after you've recovered from your surgery. I personally have not had bariatric surgery, but I know several people who have. The amount of weight they lost varied wildly. You have enough time that you don't have to buy one yet. Good luck!

I would hold dress shopping until after recovery. But I love dress #1.
